My ideal clients are people of any age who have experienced a disruption in their childhood. They are now navigating big emotions, neurodiversity, identity questions, or behaviors that others label as “defiant.” They could also be nervous, withdrawn, refusing to go to school, or having outbursts. People are often exhausted, confused, and desperate for real support.
Goals to consider are to: increase communication, reconnect with others, stabilize the home environment, and help build trust, emotional insight, and/or internal control. They’re seeking a therapist who "gets it," someone who sees beyond the behavior.

I specialize in anxiety, OCD, phobias, perfectionism, and stress - especially when they intersect with queer and trans experiences or neurodivergence.
Hello! I am Pat (they/he), a Queer and trans Licensed Social Worker. My past work as a neuroscience researcher, along with my own mental health struggles, drove me towards therapy as a calling. I am Queer-friendly, fat-positive, kink and ENM friendly, and anti-oppression in my stances; as much as I can, I want the therapy space to be an open and healing environment rather than one that recreates systemic inequality.

I work with parents, academics, young professionals, and women in midlife navigating anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and the kind of perfectionism that stopped feeling useful a long time ago.
My approach is integrative, drawing on CBT (including ERP and I-CBT), DBT, Mindful Self-Compassion, and psychodynamic therapy, with the mix shaped by what fits each client. I trained directly with Kristin Neff in self-compassion work and hold an AACC certification through ADD Coach Academy, which deepens my grounding in how ADHD shows up in daily life.

I work with children and teens struggling with anxiety, OCD, depression, school stress, social worries, and big life transitions.
Your child's lying awake again, thinking about tomorrow. The test. The question they might get wrong in front of everyone. Whether their friends are actually their friends. They used to love their activities, but lately the thought of messing up keeps them from wanting to go. They're quieter now. More careful. The worry follows them from school to practice to home, and it's exhausting. You can see it too: something's weighing on them, even when they can't find the words. They're a good kid with a big heart. They just need some help carrying what feels so heavy.

I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, OCD, trauma, and depression.
Many of my clients appear successful on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or mentally exhausted internally. You may overthink everything, struggle to quiet your mind, or feel stuck in patterns related to anxiety, ADHD, or perfectionism. Even when life looks “put together,” your mind may feel like it never shuts off. I help adults gain clarity, improve focus, and feel more in control of their thoughts, emotions, and daily life through practical, effective strategies.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
