I specialize in helping those whose: trauma, loss, and/or complex attachment histories shape their daily life.
My ideal clients are people of any age who have experienced a disruption in their childhood. They are now navigating big emotions, neurodiversity, identity questions, or behaviors that others label as “defiant.” They could also be nervous, withdrawn, refusing to go to school, or having outbursts. People are often exhausted, confused, and desperate for real support.
Goals to consider are to: increase communication, reconnect with others, stabilize the home environment, and help build trust, emotional insight, and/or internal control. They’re seeking a therapist who "gets it," someone who sees beyond the behavior.

Rather than approaching the concerns that bring you to therapy as errors in thought or maladjustments to be corrected, I strive to help open up a space for you to relate to yourself and others in new ways. Whether you experience negative relationship patterns, intrusive thoughts, self-defeating behaviors, or overwhelming feelings, I invite you to think of these not as something wrong, but as expressions of unrecognized thoughts, feelings, and experiences that are begging to be taken seriously. When we are finally able to give voice to what has never had the chance to be heard, change emerges.

I work with people who are experiencing difficulties within themselves, amongst others, and in other general areas of life. Sometimes this looks like issues with confidence and self-esteem, having intrusive thoughts, feelings, and memories about past trauma and stress, or even things like being easily upset/annoyed, feeling impulsive and edgy, relieving stress and tension by unhealthy means, or even having a hard time communicating and coping with difficult thoughts and feelings.

I commonly work with people who experience depression, grief and loss, trauma, low self-worth, substance use challenges and the emotional weight of burnout or existential distress.
I incorporate CBT, ACT, EFT, SFT and explore meaning through narrative and psychodynamic approaches. While I'm primarily a talk therapist, I also draw from mindfulness and somatic approaches to help strengthen body awareness and grounding tools. Clients in the past have also expressed appreciation for our use of humor when discussing absurdities in life.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
