My ideal clients are people of any age who have experienced a disruption in their childhood. They are now navigating big emotions, neurodiversity, identity questions, or behaviors that others label as “defiant.” They could also be nervous, withdrawn, refusing to go to school, or having outbursts. People are often exhausted, confused, and desperate for real support.
Goals to consider are to: increase communication, reconnect with others, stabilize the home environment, and help build trust, emotional insight, and/or internal control. They’re seeking a therapist who "gets it," someone who sees beyond the behavior.

One of my specialties is family therapy with adolescents and their parents. I enjoy supporting the bridge of communication between the generational differences, and helping each family member feel heard and seen. I work with the philosophy that we don't have to agree with one another to have compassion for one other. I see individuals, couples and families. I work with children as young as 6 years old. If you are seeking parenting support for your child/children, I offer a blended approach to supporting you based on where each specific child is in their development.

My practice is rooted in a client-centered, relational approach that meets each person exactly where they are. I support clients facing a wide array of concerns, including:
Depression and anxiety, Trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, relationship challenges, family conflict and communication issues, adoption-related trauma, infertility and family-building struggles, major life transitions and identity exploration. I help them navigate their own emotional experience—such as grief, confusion, fear, or uncertainty—while building acceptance, understanding, and open communication.

Sometimes we come to therapy because we are experiencing something specific and other times something just feels off. Any time is a good time (I know I have to say that, but I really believe it). I also believe that our experiences occur within the impact of systems (relationships, work, family, communities, school, society etc.). The more we uncover our understanding of how these systems interact, the better we understand our world and ourselves. This helps us disrupt patterns and deepen groundedness and joy. Clients tell me that our work together helps them see themselves more fully and therefore see others more fully.

I work with men struggling with relationships, divorce, and barriers that prevent them from living the abundant lives they deserve.
Remember when life was simpler? You were so full of hope and optimism. So sure, that you could tackle anything the universe threw your way. You felt like you had life by the reigns, until you didn't. Perhaps you changed jobs and hate your new position. Maybe you got divorced and are struggling to adapt to life newly single. Feeling that pit of anxiety in your stomach makes you sick, but you're not sure what to do.

Family’s, couples and individuals struggling with life transitions, divorce, co-parenting, grief, anxiety, and depression to name a few topics.
Through the lens of Bowen Systems Theory I work towards providing insight and awareness into the emotional process that we often find ourselves intensely reacting from. Building on that insight and awareness, decreasing the emotional reactivity while increasing calmer and more rational choices. Looking at our emotional patterns to better understand them allows us then to think in a way that can provide an openness to making different choices. To know better is to do better! To understand why we react to our situations and where those patterns have been learned, we can then start to look at each new moment as it’s own.

I now also offer EMDR therapy. I offer psychoeducation, suggest different coping skills and will point out the patterns of behavior/choices in your life and how they are impacting you. I really enjoy helping those who struggle with perfectionism and people pleasing behaviors.

I am a family therapist who works with individuals, couples and families. I focus my practice on helping individuals improve their important relationships - with their children, with their spouses or with a significant other and with their parents. Helping clients with work relationships is also a significant part of my practice. I've facilitated sessions with several generations of married couples within one family. Important relationships influence a person's emotional and physical states, resulting in some cases in extreme distress. When people reduce their sensitivity to others, they can make dramatic improvements in directing their own emotional and physical wellbeing.

My specialty is in support of children, adolescents and transition-age young adults with stress due to anxiety, depression, Autism, ADHD, grief/loss, divorce, and adoption.
Therapy is a brave and admirable choice to make for yourself, your child, and for your family. In my work with children, families, and individuals, I believe everyone holds the unique ability to learn, grow and change, while becoming more accepting of things they cannot change within themselves. An important part of my work is to create a safe and comfortable environment. I aim to provide non-judgmental and supportive therapy in a way that fits the uniqueness of each person. I believe therapy is a place to explore how one best expresses themselves, not just through words, but also through play, art, and movement.

Divorce Therapists
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.
What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.
When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.
How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
