My ideal clients are people of any age who have experienced a disruption in their childhood. They are now navigating big emotions, neurodiversity, identity questions, or behaviors that others label as “defiant.” They could also be nervous, withdrawn, refusing to go to school, or having outbursts. People are often exhausted, confused, and desperate for real support. Goals to consider are to: increase communication, reconnect with others, stabilize the home environment, and help build trust, emotional insight, and/or internal control. They’re seeking a therapist who "gets it," someone who sees beyond the behavior.

An ideal client for me is someone who is interested in doing a deep analysis of themselves because I believe that looking to the past allows clients to uncover hidden meanings or patterns that they can use to breakdown faulty beliefs, align with core values, find purpose, and heal. My approach works best for adults and teens who are navigating: trauma/PTSD, grief/loss, major life transitions, neurodivergence (ADHD/autism, late diagnosed, chronic masking, etc.), no/low contact family situations, identity exploration, anxiety, OCD, and personality issues.

Brain won't stop thinking? Feeling anxious daily? Trauma keeping you stuck in your pain? You're not alone. So many of us carry unspoken wounds that affect how we feel, relate, and live. As a trained EMDR therapist, I’m here to help you gently process those experiences, at your pace, in a safe and supportive space. I believe that healing looks different for everyone. Whether you’re dealing with trauma, anxiety, grief, or something you can’t quite name—your story matters, and your healing is possible.

I'm a licensed therapist based in Pennsylvania, and I help people work through a wide range of challenges—from everyday stress and relationship struggles to more serious concerns like PTSD and Borderline Personality Disorder. Some areas I’m especially passionate about include navigating life changes, building confidence, strengthening communication, setting healthy boundaries, healing from trauma, and supporting people through anxiety, depression, and tough relationships. I also care deeply about how culture and identity shape our experiences.

I look forward to assisting those curious about taking a closer look at their life and the problems that come with it. We will work together to better understand where these problems started and what we can do to address them. This may sound intimidating to some, but you will be surprised how it feels more like a conversation than anything. Comfort in our sessions together will always be a priority first and foremost. It is normal to feel stiff or awkward at first, after all, you are talking to a stranger about the most personal things in your life, so take your time.

If you feel stuck in patterns you know aren’t good for you—but can’t seem to break—you’re not alone. Maybe your mind won’t shut off. You overthink everything, question yourself constantly, or find yourself pulled back into the same relationships or habits, even when you know better. It’s exhausting… and frustrating. I help people understand why this happens and, more importantly, how to actually change it. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience working in mental health, including private practice, substance use, and online therapy.

We all need support from time to time navigating life's difficulties. Anxiety, stress, and trauma may be holding you back from living your life. I use a variety of therapeutic styles as it relates to your specific needs. For example we may use cognitive behavioral therapy to understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are closely tied together, psychodynamic therapy to identify long standing patterns, triggers, and childhood traumas that may be contributing to current stress in your life and attachment therapy to better understand your attachment style and how it contributes to your current relationships and conflicts.

I am currently credentialing with Aetna, Anthem/Highmark/ Capital BCBS, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, Geisinger, and UPMC commercial plans.
My ideal client is an adult navigating anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, grief, religious or complex trauma, life transitions, or questions of identity and neurodivergence. They may feel constrained by shame, avoidance, or systems that prioritize productivity, compliance, and linear healing. They are seeking a soft, grounded space where they can explore the complexities of being human, take meaningful risks in self-expression, and move toward a way of being that feels more intuitive, expansive, and free.

Do you find yourself feeling stuck in familiar patterns, overwhelmed, or unsure how to show up with confidence in your relationships? Wanting change does not mean you've failed. It often means there are parts of your story that deserve care and understanding. Is there pressure to reinvent yourself, even when unresolved experiences or trauma are quietly shaping your present? Are you ready to move beyond survival mode and deepen your connection to yourself and others? If you're doing 'all the right things' but still don't feel fulfilled, there may be deeper patterns calling for your attention.

Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.

How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.

What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.

Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.

What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.

Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.

Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.

Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer benefit plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
