I treat OCD and Anxiety in people of all ages, with a particular passion for working with young adults.
I believe that taking the first step towards therapy is an act of courage. Sometimes it's easy to 'know' on some level that something about your life isn't working, but breaking out of an unhealthy pattern is the hard part. I aim to create a warm and nonjudgmental space to allow you to examine what is causing you to feel stuck, and challenge you to show up differently. Sessions can help you feel less anxious, and more confident and clear, as you learn how to better manage day to day challenges and feel more connected within your relationships, to self and others.

It can be difficult to find the time and energy to confront the things that make us unhappy, or to simply explore who we are and how we came to be that way. You may feel "stuck" in certain patterns of relationships, and wish that you were more content. You may want to have someone outside of your experiences to help give you perspective on these issues, but worry about finding the right person for that job. I'm happy to meet with you, and to figure out together if we are a good fit.

Welcome! I’m a licensed counselor in PA. I work often with college students, young adults age 20-40, and men. If you struggle with people-pleasing or describe yourself as a "perfectionist" or highly sensitive, have attachment wounds, struggle in relationships, wondering if you are "good or bad", rumination, anxiety, or feel that you live in your head and not your life; you're in the right place. Maybe you’re reluctant about therapy, maybe it’s your first time, or maybe you’re coming back to therapy looking for a better fit; I get it, therapy is daunting and I hope to make taking the first step feel lighter.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) are conditions that can arise from a traumatic event or prolonged/repeated trauma. After a traumatic event you might have feelings of terror, shame or guilt. You may experience intense emotional reactions or even numbness, and engage in unhealthy relationships and self destructive behavior. You may feel persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, worthlessness, and anxiety. Often, with cPTSD, you may have complicated feelings about the person who inflicted the trauma. Your trauma can also manifest itself in physical pains or phobias.

Thank you for stopping by, it's nice to meet you. I'm Victoria, the owner of The Consulting Firm. The past 17 years have been such a fulfilling time to learn and support people from so many different backgrounds and statuses. Despite this, I noticed that there was a group of individuals who were often overlooked: leaders. Executives, business owners, and high-achieving professionals carry major responsibilities but are expected to do it all without pause. That’s why I created a space just for them. Through therapy and coaching, I help leaders exhale, recharge and tap in so that they can thrive both personally and professionally.

I truly love working with children, adolescents, and adults who are trying to make sense of themselves and their world. My ideal clients are often children and adults who feel overwhelmed, whether that’s anxiety, big emotions, behavior challenges, attention difficulties, or just feeling misunderstood. Many of them come in because something isn’t working at home, at school, or in relationships, and they are looking for support, clarity, and relief. At the heart of it, I'm here to help people feel more like themselves again and to remind them that they’re not alone in the journey.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
