People enter psychotherapy because they have a problem in living that they have been unable to solve. They have frequently exhausted the resources of friends and family and are unclear about how best to move their lives forward. My clinical experience over many years has taught me that focusing on the current version of the problems and exploring solutions that are meaningful and real is the way to move beyond where one is psychologically blocked. The goal is to reduce if not eliminate distress and to reach a better understanding of the ways in which such problems can be solved.
I am eclectic and pragmatic in my approach and bring 30+ years of clinical practice, experience and thought to the short term solution of these problems. While I treat a wide range of problems and age groups, I have special interest in marital/family conflicts, affective disorders, and problems of adolescence.
