Do you feel like you moving through life, but not really living? Therapy is a personal opportunity to receive support and experience growth during challenging times in life. Individual counseling can help one deal with many personal topics in life such as anger, depression , anxiety, marriage, and relationship challenges, career changes, etc. Counseling allows individuals to explore their feelings, beliefs, and behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change.

If you can relate to any of the above concepts, then you probably already know that they can lead to depression , anxiety, and many other mental and physical symptoms.
We are all human beings going through the experience of life together, although in the current age, it seems as though there is a movement of separateness, judgment, and shame. Presently, this trend is causing an epidemic of underlying unhappiness. Ask yourself: Am I having problems with the following?: **Getting up and facing the day? **Dealing with "difficult" people in my life? **Being vulnerable and sharing your feelings? ** Navigating romance and intimacy? **Wondering "Who am I?" and " Why am I here?" **Shutting off negative thinking?** Letting go of the need to be right or what "should" be? **Living in the present moment?**

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy by depression therapists in Erie. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
