You're overwhelmed-physically and psychologically. You have a lot on your plate and always put others' needs before your own. It’s starting to wear on you. It feels impossible to focus on taking care of yourself, yet your body is making it clear that it needs some of your attention. You feel like the stress of your life is impacting your health and you no longer feel like yourself. Your health is also having ripple effects across your life - affecting your mood and relationships. You long for a sense of control in your life; to find the balance between upholding your responsibilities and prioritizing your own health and well-being.

In many communities and cultures therapy is frowned upon, perceived as a weakness labeling the individual as an outcast. This is very much not the case. Many people believe they are alone, and they suffer in silence because of the stigma that comes with therapy. You do not have to suffer any longer. You deserve peace.

Whatever your reason for seeking therapy for yourself or your teen, I am so happy you're here! Maybe you've suffered traumatic experiences or relationships that have left you feeling lost, and are hoping to feel like yourself again. Perhaps you've been facing anxiety that interrupts your life with worry, intrusive thoughts, and panic attacks; or depression that keeps you stuck within sadness, hopelessness, or feeling numb and disconnected. Or maybe challenges within your relationships - romantic, family, friends - make it feel scary to connect with people and trust others.

I want my clients to leave the office feeling empowered, hopeful, and having a new perspective of their perception of the world.

I help high-achieving professionals and successful executives who appear confident but privately struggle with relational trauma, PTSD, high-functioning anxiety, and low self-esteem. You may excel in your career and meet every expectation, yet still feel burned out, disconnected, and weighed down by self-doubt, perfectionism, or imposter syndrome—feelings many high achievers carry silently. Despite your success, your closest relationships may feel strained or unfulfilling, leaving you isolated, unseen, or emotionally exhausted. If work stress, overwhelm, or relationship challenges are taking a toll, you don’t have to carry it alone.

You have spent years now wishing that things would be different. Your hope that things would get better once you were done school, the kids were older, you/they got the job, but nothing feels different. You are stuck in cycle, that during it's peak shakes you to your core and makes you question everything. When things feel calmer, you are holding your breath waiting for it to start again. You want to break free of this cycle. You want joy, laughter, love and connection! You already have the answers to make this a reality, maybe you just need a guide.

I work with queer folks who carry anxiety, exhaustion, and self-doubt from setting their needs and identities aside in the name of belonging. Maybe you’ve been the one who bends, explains, and smooths things over so others can “get it.” You deserve to be fully seen and embraced as you. You want relationships where you don’t have to dull your spark or earn love and acceptance. Maybe you’re worried that losing a relationship means losing a whole community. You don’t need anyone’s permission to be yourself, but sometimes unmasking just feels too vulnerable. You’re ready for queer JOY and to embrace it without apology.

Welcome fellow warriors! As a therapist, a unique factor of supporting individuals, couples, and families is their lived experience. Each story is different from the next though all share the same characteristic, resilience. Through each journey, the hardships brought unbearable pain, though underneath, the foundation of resilience is building, preparing each for managing the next difficulty in life. Resilient. Your journey through life gives you this gift, and with my commitment to upholding an authentic, honest relationship, I will travel the road with you to find your resiliency.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
