As a certified EMDR therapist and Level 1 IFS-trained therapist, I offer a gentle, affirming space where all parts of you belong.
Do you find yourself startling at unexpected sounds, lying awake with racing thoughts, or feeling disconnected from those around you? These aren't just random reactions – they're your body's way of protecting you from past hurts. When trauma touches our lives, whether through childhood experiences, racial discrimination, or gender-based harm, it can feel like carrying an invisible weight that no one else can see. Maybe you're also tired of explaining your identity or sitting in rooms where parts of who you are feel unwelcome. You deserve a space where your whole self is not just accepted, but celebrated.

Top skills: EMDR, Sensory Processing, Attachment wounds.
As a somatic occupational therapist, I help individuals move beyond traditional talk therapy by restoring balance and regulation to the nervous system. This supports healing that can happen at the body level. Grounded in Polyvagal Theory and guided by a trauma-informed lens, my work focuses on reconnecting clients with their innate capacity for resilience, safety, and self-understanding. I specialize in supporting people who feel stuck, especially those clients who have done the cognitive work but still lack resolution and a fully enriched and balanced life.

Because no one therapy model works for all people, I like to integrate my training in bottom-up models ( EMDR, Somatic Therapy, IFS) with models that provide concrete skills to promote an internal sense of safety and security (DBT, ACT).
Many of us go through life carrying limiting beliefs and behaviors that seem to sabotage our efforts to grow and connect with others. I believe these patterns are not disorders to be cured, but ways our mind and body have adapted to survive. For many, these patterns involve anxiety, depression, anger, and addiction. Our task in therapy involves identifying these ineffective patterns and collaborating to rewrite them, one small action at a time. This leads to growth, healing, and ultimately, self-acceptance.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
