I enjoy understanding people’s life stories and how those experiences shape who they are and how they connect. In couples therapy, I bring curiosity to each partner’s inner world and to the space between them—including the emotional, relational, and sexual dynamics that make up a couple’s bond. My goal is to build a trusting relationship where both partners feel safe to explore what hasn’t yet been fully understood—within themselves and within the relationship. I help couples put words to complex experiences and make sense of the impact of their past, their pain, their fears, and their unmet needs—individually and together.

Do you feel your life is lacking meaning and fulfillment? Are you feeling unmotivated and low energy, making it difficult to get what you want out of your life? Do you often feel anxious and distracted? These symptoms are common and natural to feel in the fast paced and productivity-driven world that we live in, but this does not have to be our reality. In gaining awareness into our internal narratives, behaviors, and thoughts we can learn how to challenge these unhealthy patterns of being by connecting to what it is that we value and find meaningful in our lives.

With an integrative approach, I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy ( ACT) to help clients understand and change dysfunctional patterns.
I support couples (including ENM/poly and mixed-neurotype) and individuals heal attachment wounds, strengthen communication skills, and live life with meaning. My style is collaborative, sex positive, and affirming of neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ experiences. Therapy with me is about building genuine connection, deepening self-trust, and showing up fully in your relationships. My background in both relationship and rehabilitation counseling gives me a unique lens in understanding how life’s challenges and differences may shape the way we love, communicate, and connect.

Hi! I'm Brittany, a neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. I offer a safe space for all, as we work collaboratively within a calm, supportive and non-judgmental environment. It would be a privilege to work with you, as I utilize my therapeutic approach to gain a better understanding of yourself, how you relate and navigate the interpersonal relationships in your life, your environment, or however you choose to utilize your therapy. I also believe it is imperative to view each person through a trauma-informed lens, while respecting their background, where traumatic experiences likely left an imprint behind.

Many of us wrestle to find hope in our lives, move forward, or just make it through the day. Depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, and loss can take away motivation and increase struggles. Or, perhaps you're determining which life path to take, or are dealing with past trauma or painful memories. You don't have to carry this weight alone. I provide an unbiased, nonjudgmental space for adults to explore what is hindering them and overcome obstacles in healthy, ways.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Whether you're feeling stuck, anxious, or just not like yourself lately, we’ll focus on practical changes that build real momentum. My goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and more confident applying what we talk about to your everyday life. We will work together, taking it one step at a time, to determine your treatment goals and what you would like treatment to look like.

I welcome working with anyone interested in the therapy process regardless of their issues or goals. There are many options for coping skills such as from EMDR/IFS (emdria certified); Gestalt, Existential, DBT, CBT and Mindfulness. Past/ current clients have worked through generational trauma, disordered eating, sexual assault, family and/ or marital concerns, trauma, depression and anxiety, attention deficit, career and direction of life concerns. It is common to struggle with the first step of reaching out to a provider.. typically people feel relief once they start talking to and then selecting a provider.

Hey Founder Fathers. Are you struggling to separate the Owner from the Dad? Do you find yourself physically at the dinner table but mentally back in the boardroom or staring at a Slack notification? Maybe you’ve already missed the winning goal or the school play, and the guilt is starting to weigh more than the business. Are you wanting to actually be there for the life you’re working so hard to build? You desire a genuine connection with your kids, but right now, it feels like the Owner in you won't let the Dad in you take the lead.

I treat individuals who experience anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and addiction; and I am a committed advocate for those in the African American community who view these issues as things not ever discussed. I pledge to provide this population with valuable information, skills, resources, and care. I also treat individuals who have experienced traumatic loss and grief, providing an empathic space to process and move through grief so that a person may take responsibility for rebuilding their life after loss or trauma.

My primary therapeutic modality is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), and I also integrate skills and strategies from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when appropriate.
Many people come to counseling when life gets overwhelming, unhealthy patterns feel hard to change, or emotions become too heavy to carry alone. It’s no wonder then, that therapy can sometimes feel like a lot of work! But having a strong therapeutic relationship and safe environment to process feelings can make all the difference. I approach therapy with a supportive, down-to-earth style in order to give clients the space necessary to pause, reflect, and start taking concrete steps towards building a life that feels more meaningful.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is a powerful, transdiagnostic model that I am happy to talk about!
Are you stuck in cycles of worry, scanning for signs something is wrong, or bracing for the worst even when you think you should be happy? Your mind may latch onto your body, your health, or the future, searching for certainty that never quite arrives. This distress can follow a medical event, an accident, or a period of intense stress, but sometimes it appears without a clear reason. What you are experiencing is real. It can disrupt sleep, work, and relationships, leaving you feeling on edge, frustrated, or ashamed.

I also use mindfulness based approaches like MBCT, DBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
We do the best we can for our lives, however, old and new trauma and life challenges may hold us back and create suffering. I have worked extensively with adults facing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, chronic pain, interpersonal issues and learnt that when people are given a safe environment to process their emotions, and held in compassion, there can be tremendous healing and big transformations. So no matter at what pace you want to go, this journey of healing and growth should not be a lonely one and I hope to be a part of your journey in your healing.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
