My inclusive work focuses on: Helping people to feel regulated and empowered, and to feel seen, safe, and valued for who they are in our process together; those struggling with trauma, PTSD, depression and anxiety; chronic pain, grief and loss, phobias, racing thoughts, crossroads and upheaval; as well as Body Image, with a specific focus on Body Neutrality and Health At Every Size (HAES) – all with mindfulness, compassion, and acceptance.
My therapeutic approach blends ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Systems (family and internal family), Somatics, Breathwork, and Mindfulness. Work is trauma-informed, compassionate and kind, through a harm-reduction lense. Additionally I am a Ketamine-Assisted-Psychotherapy Provider, offering Preparation & Integration services for KAP as well as PAT.

I blend body-based approaches, mindfulness and hypnotherapy to offer tangible tools for staying healthy and grounded.
Trauma approaches like Somatic Experiencing and Compassionate Inquiry include a focus on the body and target unresolved aspects of our healing. Physical sensations (like chronic pain & tension), breathing, and traumatic memories keep negative beliefs buried. When we halt these negative self-images new behaviors can emerge to support longed for life changes.

I have the DBT and mindfulness skills, which uses both mind and body exercises that will help you manage the crippling anxiety, love yourself better, be a more present and joyful mom, improve your relationships, and attract the life you want.
To others it may seem like you've got it all together, but on the inside you're spinning out of control. Panic randomly punches you in the chest, taking your breath away, and you can't focus on anything else other than how to make it stop. You are consumed by trying to keep up with everyone else since they seem to have it all together, but you can barely function through the day. You feel like an awful mom because you are lashing out on your kids and hating the daily monotony instead of "embracing the joy of motherhood." You feel like you are failing your partner because somewhere along this journey you just lost yourself.

I use mindfulness, EMDR, CBT, strengths-based, life coaching, and Christian counseling as options when treating individuals.
I like to create an open environment where rapport is important as it helps establish trust and therapeutic alliance. Goal setting is about the client, so open-ended questioning and seeing them as the expert is important in collaboration of setting goals.

I can teach you skills such as interpersonal effectiveness, mindfulness and distress tolerance.
Feeling stagnant or stuck? Do you feel lost, overwhelmed, unfulfilled, or isolated? Do you find yourself repeating the same behaviors, even though you know they are not helping you get to where you want to be? You want things to be different with your entire being, but for whatever reason just cant seem to get there. You've turned to addictive behaviors or developed an unhealthy relationship with food to cope. Self sabotage and self criticism turns into a vicious cycle. You have tried therapy before, but didn't feel like you got what you needed because you were listened to but not challenged or pushed out of your comfort zone.

I blend different therapeutic modalities with traditional talk therapy, such as mindfulness and EMDR, to resolve these issues.
You know yourself better than anyone else: your struggles, dreams, desires, goals, feelings, relationships. As a psychotherapist and trauma specialist, I help people understand their experiences in a safe and supportive space that promotes growth, healing, and exploration of all areas of life. If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad, or easily triggered, talking with a professional can help you navigate through those emotions and find balance. Therapy can help people regain control/focus in their lives and disrupt the cycles that keep leading to the same negative outcomes.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists

How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
