I am an
OCD
specialist who works with those who are ready to reclaim their lives by kicking
OCD
and anxiety to the curb.
Before you can even grab your coffee the intrusive thoughts and feelings flood in. The need to do compulsions is on repeat in your mind through out the day. Other people seem connected to their life, moving through it naturally and freely..... You want that too. I hear you! I work with women to help them let go of the doubt & the need for certainty and to find peace & contentment in their life. I want you to learn how to stop answering the "what if..." questions and lean into your values-filled life instead!

Are you dealing with Anxiety, Panic Attacks, PTSD,
OCD
, Fears & Phobias, Depression, Sexual Trauma, Relationship Issues or Sports Performance? Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT) is a form of hypnotherapy that aims to help individuals permanently overcome the ongoing effects that stem from negative experiences. Unlike traditional cognitive therapy, which only targets the cognitive brain, RRT instead addresses the emotional brain and limbic system. The human mind relates and responds to stories. With RRT a new neural pathway is built through visual imagery, storytelling, and metaphors. It's Rapid Therapy with Lasting Results!

Welcome to my site. I have been working with adolescents and young adults for over 16 years. I work with teens, young adults and adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, disorder eating,
OCD
, phobias, ODD, suicidal ideation, ADHD, relationship issues, addiction issues, or family conflict. My therapeutic relationship with my clients is not formal therapist in a suit taking notes but more personal and informal. At times, kids have a hard time being drawn out, they aren't sure how to put their feelings into words, I am very good at helping them become comfortable expressing what's happening in their inner world.

The most significant action a person can take to improve their mental health, is seeking a professional to aid them in addressing their mental health. You have taken this step because you, or a loved one are experiencing difficulty in your daily life. In many ways the most important step is now behind you and now you need to pick a partner for the remainder of this journey toward a balanced, positive outlook and good mental health.

Is your pre-teen or teen doubting themselves because the feel like they don’t fit the same mold as their peers? Have they expressed feeling alone, lonely or excluded? Have they experienced a loss or a trauma that is impacting their day to day life? The challenges children face today are many and the resulting feelings show up in the way they behave and feel. Possibly feeling sad or anxious, having frequent stomach and head aches, and/or behavioral and mood changes. Are you overwhelmed, feeling as though you can't make this better for your child? It only takes one family member's stress to throw the whole family off balance.

You're here. That takes courage. The next step might take even more. Our life experiences can lead us to doubt ourselves, delay important decisions, and avoid taking steps we know, at our cores, offer us an opportunity to set a more hopeful path forward. I hear you and I want you to know that even though I don't know you yet, I care about you. I care about what brought you here. I care about what happens next. I can be here to support you when your anxious thoughts make you afraid, when your sadness feels paralyzing, or when you feel alone with all of these overwhelming, but very human emotions. Today is an opportunity.

Many people who seek mental health services struggle to find a clinician who is both personable and effective. The most important factor in therapeutic success is the therapeutic relationship. I am not the right fit for everyone, but finding the right professional is key. My work includes working with difficult to treat individuals as well as those who have experienced previous treatment failures. I am also a forensic psychologist and conduct evaluations of individuals involved with the legal system and often provide expert testimony. If you think I might be able to help you achieve your therapeutic goals, please contact me.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
OCD is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
