Hello, my name is Jim. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Trauma Certified Clinical Counselor. I have been offering hope and promoting healing to individuals, couples, and families since 1999. I meet with clients in Pennsylvania and Florida.

I believe each person can process past and current life struggles to find healthiness and peace in their life. I provide my clients with a warm, comforting, safe, and nonjudgmental space to process life challenges. Therapy can be a place to process past distressing events that might contribute to your current functioning. I am a Clinical Doctor of Social Work and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been a practicing therapist in the mental health field for 25 years and have experience working in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient settings. I am a compassionate and supportive licensed clinical social worker, who specializes in working with children, teenagers, and young adults through a trauma informed lens. With years of experience in the field, I aim to help people navigate a variety of issues, including: trauma, anger, anxiety, attachment concerns, depression, behavioral difficulties, and family/relationship conflicts.

Paul Gushurst graduated Phi Betta Kappa from the University of Mary Washington with a BS in Psychology and from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master’s degree in Social Work. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist with over 14 years of experience working with emotionally and behaviorally challenged children and their families. He also has over 8 years of experience working with adults and seniors who are dealing with many of the common mental health issues including: anxiety, mood disorders (depression and bipolar); trauma, and anger. Paul is also skilled in working with couples.
