I believe in meeting you where you are at emotionally--whatever is the most pressing issue on your heart, there we can begin the work together. By doing so, I hope to companion you in your journey from surviving to thriving. I believe that we, as humans, can learn from yesterday, live for today, and hope for tomorrow. Emotional pain can be both a terrible and terrific teacher. With developing coping skills and techniques, painful experiences can foster resiliency and character to help us survive and thrive.

Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor from Northeast Pennsylvania. I received my master's in clinical psychology from Chestnut Hill College. I have been practicing as a counselor for over ten years. I have worked in the field of mental health and substance abuse for over twenty years. I have had the privilege of working with adolescents and adults in outpatient and inpatient settings. In the first session, I feel as though it is important to learn about the client and have them feel comfortable. I value a therapeutic relationship and feel as though it is important to make people feel comfortable with identifying health goals.

I truly love working with children, adolescents, and adults who are trying to make sense of themselves and their world. My ideal clients are often children and adults who feel overwhelmed, whether that’s anxiety, big emotions, behavior challenges, attention difficulties, or just feeling misunderstood. Many of them come in because something isn’t working at home, at school, or in relationships, and they are looking for support, clarity, and relief. At the heart of it, I'm here to help people feel more like themselves again and to remind them that they’re not alone in the journey.

Life can feel overwhelming when stress, anxiety, or difficult life transitions start to pile up—and sometimes just talking about it isn’t enough. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families who are ready for more than insight alone. Together, we focus on building practical strategies that lead to real, lasting change. I have experience supporting clients through anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral challenges, substance use, and major life transitions. My background includes work in outpatient, school-based, and community settings, which allows me to understand how mental health concerns show up not just in therapy.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
