I specialize in providing support to individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma and difficult life transitions.
Sometimes it can be difficult to put into words the experiences you’ve had. Art therapy is another modality I offer to clients who prefer a different and creative approach to processing thoughts and feelings.

I work with clients who are 14 years old and older that are working through many types of issues such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, suicidal ideation, infertility, drug and alcohol recovery, adjustment issues, LGBTQIA and BIPOC populations, parenting, coping skill development, relationship issues, family conflict, geek and gamer culture, and more.
Do you feel stuck, and need help problem-solving, and/or getting unstuck? I am an integrative therapist that utilizes a Person-Centered, and Strength Based form of therapy derived from the Family Systems Model, as well as concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness techniques. I work with my clients to help them to access their strengths, and develop approaches that are centered on their personal objectives. Through this approach, the client is able to build their "tool box" by gaining "tools", or skills, to help them move forward with the healthy life they desire.

As a therapist, one thing I learned is that everyone just wants to feel seen, understood, and accepted exactly as they are. You are not broken—you’re carrying experiences and emotions that deserve care and understanding. I believe healing starts when we connect with ourselves, feel safe, seen, and supported. I offer traditional talk therapy and /or EMDR sessions for deeper healing on a quicker timeline.

My clients often seek my support with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, identity exploration, life changes, and family or relationship concerns.
My approach is collaborative and values-based. I blend talk therapy with practical tools to help you manage difficult thoughts and emotions while working toward your long-term goals. Therapy is never linear, but you should feel you’re making progress. If you've been to therapy before and felt supported but not challenged, we may be a good fit.

You also avoid affection because you're worried it'll lead to more.
I help women go from dreading sex to actually wanting it without forcing it. It's not about pressing harder on the gas, it's about taking your foot off the brakes. Your sex drive isn't broken, it’s stuck. You'll understand what's blocking you, how to release it, and exactly how to enjoy yourself, so sex stops feeling like work and starts feeling good again.

I specialize in working with women navigating trauma — including traumatic loss and mass violence — as well as anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions.
My ideal clients are people navigating life's transitions, daily stress, or the lingering weight of past experiences — those who sense something needs to change but aren't sure where to start. They come seeking clarity, relief, and a stronger sense of self. I work collaboratively to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore what's holding you back, identify patterns that no longer serve you, and build new ones that do. Together, we'll find your voice and chart a path toward the life you actually want.

Our first session will be an opportunity to share your story and what brings you to therapy — what feels difficult now, what you hope will change. From there, we’ll co-create a tailored plan rooted in your needs, values, and pace.

Finding a therapist is difficult! You may be overwhelmed from scrolling through this website, not to mention the overwhelm of issues that are bringing you to therapy. I find that a short video consultation can help clients determine if a therapist is the right fit. Head over to my website and click "Reach out Today!" and I'll get back to you quickly to schedule a free consultation. My clients appreciate my warmth, humor, direct approach and ability to get to the heart of the issue. My office in the Monongahela Building is pretty cozy, but I also provide telehealth if that's what you're looking for.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
