Through my many years of clinical experience, I’ve learned that there is an art to listening that requires skill, discipline, and patience. While other programs claim to be 'trauma-informed', our practice revolves entirely around trauma therapy. This is what we do best. The Phoenix Center for Experiential Trauma Therapy is named after the legendary figure of the phoenix that dies and is reborn from its own ashes – it is a symbol of transformation, resilience, and growth after trauma. While we cannot change the past, we can change how past experiences live within us! Sessions range from $225-125 with our therapists. Low-cost therapy sessions with our graduate interns range from $95-30.

Trauma, grief, sadness, confusion, worry and addiction are the most common reasons why people reach out for help.
I have extensive experience counseling college students though I treat all ages and stages, 18 and older. The late adolescent stage is a pivotal place and ripe for growth. However, the family system directly affects a client's reality and all members of a network require support during tough times. Half of my client base is now Couples/Family Counseling.

My areas of focus are trauma, anxiety, prolonged or traumatic grief, stress management and relationship patterns.
We know that unresolved issues from the past create problems in the present. While our brains naturally process things in ways that move us towards greater well-being, overwhelming experiences can interfere with its ability to do that and cause you to feel stuck. Some people think "this is just how I am" and there's nothing to do about it. But fortunately, the brain can change, and we can help it. Some therapies work deeper in the brain than traditional talk therapy and activate your brain's own ability to heal, clear out what's stuck and build new neural pathways in order to resolve the underlying issues and create lasting change.

Whether you are coming to therapy for anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, a life change, or just a general sense of unease, facing these issues can be scary.
Our wounds, losses, and trauma can trap us in painful patterns of avoidance, anger, fear, sadness, guilt, and shame. Together, we can develop curiosity, compassion, and understanding around how they are showing up in our relationships with ourselves and others, to ultimately begin to build a life that feels more meaningful and true.

I work with clients who struggle with relationships, self-worth, grief, trauma, anxiety, etc.
Exploring the deepest parts of ourselves or sitting with the heaviest feelings is daunting. But to do so, and to create something new from it, is liberating. Therapy offers a space to connect with all parts of yourself and move toward authenticity. I believe our work together can be a step toward not just coping, but creating a life that feels full. In our sessions, we’ll dive into the unknown together. I believe that lasting change can take place when we create a space that challenges us without compromising self-compassion. I will walk with you toward this transformative self-compassion in the moments it feels hardest to access.

I work at the intersection of grief, career, and mental health counseling — because those three rarely travel alone.
Something keeps pulling you back — the same patterns, a life that looks right from the outside but doesn’t quite feel like yours from the inside.
You may already have a sense of where it comes from. You can love your parents and still reckon honestly with what they didn’t give you — and stop letting that unresolved tension quietly run your decisions, your relationships, and your career.
If you’ve spent years doing what you were supposed to do and are only now asking whether it’s what you want — that’s not a crisis. That’s clarity.

I work with individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, grief, panic, OCD and I understand how hard it can be to face these struggles head-on.
I draw from several approaches—including CBT to explore thought patterns, DBT for emotion regulation and self-awareness, and somatic practices to reconnect you with your body. When appropriate, we may also use exposure-based strategies to help you gently and gradually face the things that feel overwhelming—at a pace that feels manageable.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
