I am a therapist who is founded in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) who works with anxiety, trauma, and challenging life dynamics.
My clients come to therapy feeling disconnected from themselves and overwhelmed with the challenging demands life presents them. Often they present as outwardly successful and are struggling internally with not feeling good enough. They tend to have histories of painful experiences and a misunderstanding of their nervous system’s needs. Despite feeling uncomfortable, they need someone who can sit and witness their pain with them. Many of my clients are individuals within the helping profession and are people going through life changes and transitions who desire to feel more grounded in their professional and personal identities.

My main approaches are cognitive and trauma therapies.
Since 2006, I have worked with children, teens, adults, and families, in a variety of settings. I offer both in-office and virtual sessions. I find a joy in helping men build confidence and self worth, create identity and goals, and repair the damages caused by absent fathering.

I have spent the majority of my career working with women and college students who struggle with eating disorders, anxiety, depression and trauma.
I believe that every human being has the ability to be the best person they can be. Everyone struggles at different times in life, some unfortunately, more than others complicated by circumstances, situations and relationships. I work with the understanding that we get stuck around negative emotions that we tend to avoid, as they are uncomfortable, unwanted and painful. I help people explore what their underlying core emotional issues are and help them clarify how they are avoiding them, inviting them to face these uncomfortable emotional experiences and move toward them, stretching their comfort zone.

I work with neurodivergent folks and those healing complex or identity-based trauma as well as people exploring who they are.
HI! I’m Abbie – a white, pansexual, neurodiverse, agnostic-athiest, nonbinary person. I’ve been a therapist for two years and love what I do! In and out of therapy, I am naturally compassionate, very curious, and values-driven. I tend to be very expressive and have been told on a couple of occasions that I remind people of a cartoon character, which I take as an excellent compliment on my openness, transparency, and unmasking. All of these parts of me help inform my version of therapy, allowing me to engage the folks I work with in introspective exploration of who they are and how they came to be.

I specialize in treating Anxiety, Depression, & Trauma.
Even before you are fully awake, your brain is already thinking about the thing that happened the other day. Wondering why you can’t ever seem to get it right. You chastise yourself for the smallest thing, and worry so much about making the wrong decision that you end up stuck on the couch, doom scrolling or watching TV, avoiding everything altogether. I help conscientious women in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s, stop the endless spiraling so they can quiet the unrelenting background chatter and feel supported, calm and confident.

Depression, anxiety, and trauma can weigh heavy on your heart — and they can make you feel like you’re carrying it all alone.
I’m a PsyPact-licensed psychologist, which means I can work with folks in North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and 39 other states. My path to this work is personal. Growing up, I often felt like I didn’t quite fit in — like my feelings were too big, and I didn’t know what to do with them. I know how lonely it can feel to think something might be wrong with you. That’s why I’m so passionate about helping others find clarity, connection, and a little more kindness toward themselves.

I love working with Neurodivergent, Queer, and Trans clients, as well as folks living with trauma, especially childhood trauma.
As a NeuroQueer therapist, I get what it's like navigating a world that wasn't built for you. Maybe you're exploring your identity, healing from a childhood that didn't feel safe, or exhausted from masking who you really are. If you've tried therapy before but felt like you had to explain yourself constantly or hide parts of who you are, then you deserve a therapist who shares your lived experience and creates space where ALL of you is welcome. I'm here to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your authentic self—the person who's been there all along, beneath the layers of protection and survival strategies you've had to develop.
