I am a certified Brainspotting therapist.
Are you struggling with pornography or sexual compulsivity? Is secrecy, broken trust or loss of intimacy hurting your relationship? Or maybe you’re not in crisis, but you know your marriage could be stronger, more connected, more alive? You’re not alone–we have been through these issues personally and know what it’s like. I’m a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), and Hunter is a Certified Mentor Coach in long-term recovery. Together, we help men break free (porn, sexting, affairs, prostitution, etc) and we help couples rebuild trust and real intimacy.

My passion as a therapist is to help foster growth and wholeness among individuals, couples and families. It takes incredible courage to reach out for help, so it is important for me to meet each person exactly where they are on their journey. It is essential that I foster a safe environment that allows for vulnerability, which leads to healing.

Integrating traditional evidence based therapies (CBT, DBT) with deeper awareness of the body, nervous system and emotional patterns through Brainspotting, EMDR and IFS.
I have 20 years experience with almost all disorders and severity levels, specializing in complex attachment trauma and domestic abuse. I work with individuals struggling with relationships, guilt, shame, fears and anxiety, low self esteem and difficulty breaking cycles. My style is highly attuned and empathetic, trauma and nervous system-informed which moves beyond surface level coping. Together we gently untangle patterns layer by layer. Processing emotions and restoring a sense of internal safety and personal authority. I will be there to walk through the difficult moments at the pace that feels right for you. You are not alone.

I interweave Brainspotting with acceptance, mindfulness, and compassion-based intervention to promote brain-body healing.
Deep down, you’ve always sensed your true potential—there’s a part of you that knows you’re capable of big, beautiful things. But that light, that sense of possibility, feels harder and harder to access. It’s buried beneath a mountain of shame, fear, and frustration. You wonder why things seem so much harder for you than for others; even on your good days it feels like you’re one mistake away from losing it all. You feel like an outsider, like no one really gets you. You watch the women around you glide through life while you feel like you’re always one step behind. You long to belong—to express yourself, to really be seen.

Hello! My name is Gregg and I help people through some of the tough times in their lives. I believe that we adjust to new experiences using the tools we already possess and a desire to thrive in new surroundings, but sometimes this striving to survive can cause us emotional and behavioral difficulties. I provide supportive guidance through these situations using tools from cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative, and existential therapies, from the psychodynamic approach.

Brainspotting can also be done in sessions if that's something you are interested in!
If everything feels overwhelming right now, and if you find yourself unable to turn your thoughts off or shutting down often, then together we can work on making your thoughts and emotions feel more manageable. Maybe, right now grief, anxiety, or depression are really loud, and we need to work together to make them feel less intimidating. We can also work on communication skills, relationship patterns, setting boundaries (knowing when to say no or when to push yourself), and helping you recover from and managing burn-out so that you don't feel trapped to keep pouring from an empty cup.

I hold additional training in trauma-informed queer care, brainspotting, and addiction.
Feeling stuck, depleted, lonely, overwhelmed, unsure of who you are- these are feelings I often hear when clients first come to see me. They arise from past experiences, hurtful relationships, traumas, and societal/familial expectations that subconsciously start to dictate how you think about yourself and how you relate to the world around you; you start to have trouble seeing yourself clearly. I strive to provide a safe & validating space for you to explore the challenges and pain that might be holding you back from being where you want to be; helping to refocus your vision so that you are able to witness your unique power

I have trained in Somatics, Narrative Therapy, IFS, EMDR, Body Trust, and Brainspotting.
Much of my practice centers on supporting people navigating rupture (with individuals and religious/political institutions), life/gender/body transitions and journeys, trauma, anxiety, grief, and depression. As a systems thinker, I support clients in situating and understanding their distress within the social, political, and relational conditions that shape our lives. I work especially well with justice-minded people seeking a space where grief and joy are given permission to coexist. I aim to create a container where clients can clarify what matters to them and move toward more embodied and relational ways of being.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
