Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists in Carnegie, PA
I offer an integrative approach utilizing mindfulness-based approaches, ACT, IFS, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.
Ideally, I am committed to helping others who are committed to themselves, and to those who are willing to courageously embark on a journey to become the best version of themselves they can possibly be. Clients come to me with a variety of concerns, and I function from an integrative approach to meet clients wherever they may be. It is my strong belief that concerns don't define people; identity is a verb.

My primary approach is grounded in mindfulness, self compassion, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy ( ACT), and using the body as a tool.
Are you the person others often see as “having it all together” even when inside, you feel overwhelmed by the pressure to perform or keep it all going? Do you find it difficult to slow down or feel disconnected from your own needs? Perhaps you've tried therapy before, but it didn’t quite meet you where you were.
Imagine a space where you can show up just as you are, without masks or expectations. A space where you're supported in reconnecting with your intuition, learning to trust your body, and being deeply seen and heard for your true self.

Whether you're managing overwhelming anxiety, intrusive thoughts, perfectionism, ARFID, OCD, emetophobia, or noticing signs of anxiety in your child, I can help. Using evidence based treatments I teach you how to interrupt the patterns that keep you stuck. I educate individuals and families how anxiety/OCD work and teach you concrete skills to practice outside of session. For parents, I am trained in the SPACE program (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), developed at Yale. This parent-focused model helps you reduce your child’s anxiety/OCD by changing how you respond to their anxious emotions.

You’ve been holding it together on the surface, but each day has been feeling heavier. You’ve been pushing through anxious thoughts and worries that your life isn’t measuring up. It feels like you’ve simply been surviving while showing up for work, school, & family life. You’re not sure what a meaningful life looks like now. You're not alone. You deserve a nonjudgmental space to reconnect with what matters & define what it means to be authentically, meaningfully you.
I’ve worked with individuals who have specific goals as well as those who are uncertain about what is wrong, but know that the way they feel is no longer serving them

By providing complete acceptance, I can explore with you the parts of yourself that may be daunting to face alone.
Are you facing times of change and loss, searching for personal meaning? Sometimes answers that used to fit don’t make sense anymore. Often, the things we do to push away life's pain hurt us as much as the feelings themselves. I believe every experience is an opportunity for growth, if we allow ourselves to experience it fully and learn from it. I believe the more authentically ourselves we are, the more we are able to find joy in life. Maybe together we can face those feelings, and move through them to the other side.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
