Cultivating Connection and Growth. At its core, therapy is about connection—authentic, human connection that creates space for healing and growth. My approach blends clinical expertise with a deep respect for the individual story each client brings, recognizing that therapy isn’t about fixing people—it’s about helping them rediscover their capacity for self-understanding and change. At the end of the day, therapy is a conversation—and I’m here not just to listen, but to walk alongside clients as they navigate the tough stuff, celebrate the wins, and learn to live with more clarity and courage.

Issues: anxiety, depression, grief and loss, infertility, pregnancy, adoption, and post partum/adjustment to parenthood.
I listen carefully and then together we clarify your therapy goals. Your feedback helps me tailor my approach to help you get where you want to be. The intersection of brain health and physical health is an area that fascinates me and in which I have some expertise. Between the gut-brain axis and the fact that 90% of all neurotransmitters (serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, etc) are synthesized in the gut, there isn't always a clear distinction between physical and brain health issues. I love sharing information about nutraceuticals for brain health as well as about Medical Advocacy.

Sometimes people get stuck in patterns that make life feel unsatisfying and empty. Are you feeling sad, angry, worried, or struggling with life balance in general? Perhaps you are struggling with processing current events in our world, relationship issues, parenting issues, or have a painful past event that you can't seem to let go. Therapy allows you the space to understand how your past and present thoughts and experiences create the unhealthy patterns that become ingrained.

My specialties are in women’s health; specifically pregnancy and postpartum transitions, perimenopause, relational dynamics and available for LPC supervision.
We all have an intrinsic desire to move towards a sense of wholeness, which is achieved through psychological awareness, self-acceptance, and self-knowledge. This process takes courage, insight, vulnerability, and perspective-taking. The goal of therapy is to identify and examine areas that are no longer aligned, provide an opportunity to reflect upon them, and make changes that are aligned in the direction you wish to move. It is natural for humans to recreate what we know, reenact patterns relationally, which become normalized and even anticipated.

Someone inspiring once said, “You are enough just as you are. Each emotion you feel, everything in your life, everything you do or do not do, where you are and who you are right now, is enough. It is perfect.” And I fully believe this to be true. Where you are right now may be challenging, how you feel right now may not be pleasant and what you’re doing right now might not be working. And that is okay - I'm here to help! Are you a parent-to-be struggling with anxiety/worry and boundaries as you approach this new life transition? Are you a new parent and don't understand your emotions or feel like you're drowning in life?

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
