I am also trained in Exposure Response Prevention ( ERP), the gold standard treatment for breaking free from OCD, and also combine ACT and DBT for anxiety and depression.
Welcome- If you have found me, it means you are looking for something to change. Therapy should feel both supportive and effective—you deserve a space where you feel grounded and where meaningful progress is happening. Together, we’ll work to understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop practical tools you can use in your everyday life. My goal is to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, reconnect with your strengths, and build measurable, lasting change at a pace that feels right for you. I am especially excited about working with individuals facing life transitions, teens and young adults.

My approach is integrative, drawing on CBT (including ERP and I-CBT), DBT, Mindful Self-Compassion, and psychodynamic therapy, with the mix shaped by what fits each client.
You have probably been holding a lot for a while. Maybe you have tried therapy before and felt heard in some ways, but came away thinking your ADHD never really got the attention it needed. Maybe the people around you would be surprised to learn how much you are carrying, because you tend to be the one who holds things together. I work with parents, academics, young professionals, and women in midlife navigating anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and the kind of perfectionism that stopped feeling useful a long time ago. And you are welcome here, even if your story does not match these categories exactly.

Sometimes it is difficult to like ourselves, let alone love who we are. We can be our own harshest critic! Some people use the inner critic as a motivation to succeed in life, but what happens when the inner critic wears you down and it becomes debilitating? I believe there are inner resources and strengths in all of us. Sometimes we just need some guidance to figure out what they are and how to use them to better our lives. With thoughtful consideration to self-compassion and the development of a deeper self-awareness, we can work together to develop a new narrative for your life in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

Hi, I'm Kim and welcome to Cornerstone Wellness! I believe each of us at different times in our lives face situations which cause us to re-assess/re-evaluate our lives, e.g. what is important to us, what we are doing, what is working for us in our lives and perhaps what is not. I believe counseling can be a place in which a person can learn about themselves and make positive changes in themselves and their lives which can then lead to increased life satisfaction.

I use the evidence-based practices of Exposure and Response Prevention ( ERP) and Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) to support clients in gaining relief from their OCD.
I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and OCD. This might look like constantly needing reassurance from loved ones, struggling in social situations and often cancelling plans, feeling fixated on your body/health, experiencing taboo or scary intrusive thoughts, or feeling the need to constantly distract yourself to stay comfortable. Anxiety can take many forms, often leading us into cycles of avoidance or compulsive behaviors. My goal is to support you in learning where your anxiety is helping you, and where it is holding you back from what is important to you.

As a creative, introspective, or deep-feeling person with a rich inner world, it's easy to feel overwhelmed or disconnected at times. You may appear capable on the outside while privately struggling with anxiety, looping thoughts and behaviors, perfectionism, relationship challenges, body image struggles, or simply feeling burnt out or misunderstood. Many of my clients spend a great deal of time trying to understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that shape their lives, yet still feel stuck or disconnected from themselves.

Some burdens don’t show on the surface. You hold it together at work, with your family, even in front of friends — but under it all, something feels off. Maybe it’s the weight of unspoken grief, the mental tangle of ADHD, or the stress of navigating a diagnosis (or lack of one). At Dean Psychological & Well-Being Associates, we understand how layered it can be. You don’t have to explain everything — and you don’t have to carry it alone.

I use ACT, DBT, ERP, IFS, compassion-focused, feminist, humanistic, and trauma-informed approaches.
My ideal client is an adult navigating anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, grief, religious or complex trauma, life transitions, or questions of identity and neurodivergence. They may feel constrained by shame, avoidance, or systems that prioritize productivity, compliance, and linear healing. They are seeking a soft, grounded space where they can explore the complexities of being human, take meaningful risks in self-expression, and move toward a way of being that feels more intuitive, expansive, and free.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
