WEEKEND appts (Friday, Sat, and Sunday), in my office, phone, or video. If you're busy through the week, I'm here for you on the WEEKEND. I have extensive experience with anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, personal growth, life transitions, spiritual matters, and so forth. Life is really hard and you don't have to be strong and brave all the time, or to think you have to handle everything alone. Nothing is too small or unimportant for us to talk about because if it's bothering you it's important to me. Self-care (including therapy) isn't selfish. In this impersonal world, you might not think you matter, but I know you do.

We are living in an unwell world, and our bodies and minds are reacting in entirely reasonable, if maladaptive, ways. We could all use some extra support in navigating this. Whether you are impacted by the political upheaval of this moment, going through life transitions and seeking support, or finding yourself in relational patterns that aren’t serving you, I am here to help you ground into your most authentic and embodied self. I believe in your ability to grow, change, and find more functional ways of responding to the chaos around you.

I take a holistic perspective with my clients to address the health of body, mind, and spirit. I believe that a solid therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is a crucial part of the healing process, and that techniques and therapy approaches must “fit” the client in order to be effective—there is no “one size fits all” therapy. My goal, as a counselor and therapist, is to deeply understand my client, and when this happens we are able to identify areas of life that need to be changed, and ways of going about doing that. Therapy is a collaborative process between a trained therapist and a client who wants to change.

Her clients often want more than insight; they want real change in how they respond, relate, trust themselves, set boundaries, and move through life with more calm and confidence.

Building meaningful change requires understanding how our relationships, environment, and personal history shape who we are. As a therapist, I operate from a 'Person-in-Environment' perspective, viewing you not just as an individual, but as a whole person navigating a complex world. I particularly enjoy helping people with mood and anxiety disorders, emotion regulation, grief, and substance use and gambling addictions.

I love working with people exploring queerness, navigating trauma, or processing grief. My clients often carry shame, disconnection, or survival-mode patterns that once kept them safe but now feel limiting. You may want to feel at home in your own skin, trust yourself again, and reclaim parts of yourself you’ve hidden. Grounded in equity, vulnerability, authenticity, and empowerment, I use Gestalt Therapy, IFS, and somatic practices to help you reconnect with your body, deepen awareness, and live with more presence, intimacy, and self-trust.

You've spent years being the strong one; the caretaker, the problem-solver, the one holding everything together. But lately, the weight of it all may be catching up with you. You may feel anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, or disconnected from yourself. Maybe you're navigating a transition you expected; college, motherhood, a career change, or the empty nest, or one you never saw coming, such as relationship challenges or divorce. Perhaps you're in midlife and finding yourself asking questions you didn't expect: Who am I now? What do I actually need? What do I want this next chapter of my life to look like?

I am a therapist that attempts to see the world from a systemic view. This view may allow me to stay objective enough and thoughtful enough to ask questions about things you might not yet be able to see. This position can often allow me to ask questions and provide space for each client to make sense of their own functioning, to see the systemic process themselves and ultimately gain a better understanding of themselves. This understanding of self may be what allows for changes in relationships, reduction in conflict/stress, a decrease in symptoms, and impacting the multigenerational process in ones family of origin.

Something brought you here — and if I had to guess, it wasn't easy to admit you needed support. Maybe it's anxiety that's been quietly running the show. Maybe it's a pattern with substances you're not sure how to talk about. Maybe you're a woman who's spent so long holding everything together that you've lost track of what you actually need. Whatever it is, I want you to know: you don't have to have it figured out before we talk. I work with adults across Pennsylvania via telehealth — people navigating real, complicated lives — and I'd love to be part of your next chapter.

Therapy with me is real talk, not polite nodding while you spiral in circles. I’ll call out the bullshit (yours, mine, society’s), but I’ll also laugh with you, celebrate the small wins, and remind you that your brain isn’t broken... it’s brilliant. I’m AuDHD (autistic + ADHD), which means I get it. The sensory overload, the “wait, what do you mean other people don’t have 50 tabs open in their brain at all times?”, the burnout, the masking, the hyperfocus wormholes... I live it too. So in my office, you don’t have to waste time translating your experience or toning yourself down. You get to show up as your whole, unmasked self.

Hello and welcome. Seeking out help and support is a great first step. My goal is to assist you in that journey. Managing our mental health and wellness can feel overwhelming, but I want you to know that you are not alone. My approach to therapy is supportive and nurturing, but direct. Together we can explore ways we can gently hold ourselves accountable to create the changes we want to make in life, or come to terms with aspects of our life we cannot control or change.

FAQ - About Therapy for Seniors
Is one ever too old for mental health therapy?
Individuals of all ages can benefit from mental health therapy. Indeed, older adults in particular may benefit from the social and psychological support a therapist can provide; the topics that older adults address in therapy may simply differ from those of younger clients. Seniors should seek out a therapist who has experience working with older individuals and who is well-versed in addressing common concerns among elderly individuals, such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and physical mobility challenges.

How is counseling for seniors and the elderly different from counseling for other age groups?
In general, counseling offers an opportunity for clients to process difficult life events and develop coping skills they can use outside of the therapy session. Therapists who specialize in working with elderly clients generally have the same framework but may place a special emphasis on specific topics, such as caregiver relationships and reducing loneliness. They may be specially equipped to deal with certain physical conditions or facilitate discussion surrounding end-of-life topics. Counseling for the elderly may also place a greater emphasis on social work-type topics to ensure that geriatric clients have access to necessary resources, such as food, a safe home environment, and healthcare.

How can therapy improve the quality of life of aging individuals?
Therapy for aging adults can greatly improve quality of life by providing an opportunity for them to process difficult emotions related to end-of-life, navigate relational or caregiver challenges, and develop coping skills for common mental health conditions, like anxiety or depression. Subsequent reductions in negative emotions and mental health disorder symptoms can make day-to-day living much more manageable for aging adults and those that care for them. The ongoing relationship with a trusted therapist can also help seniors combat loneliness and provide a sense of structure for their routine.

What are the qualities to look for in therapists who see seniors?
Seniors counselors, like mental health counselors in general, should be kind, empathetic, skilled at listening, and knowledgeable about their particular area of expertise. Counselors specializing in working with the senior population should be very familiar with the aging process in general and the common conditions that the elderly can face, such as dementia, depression, loneliness, and/or physical illness. Many senior counselors are also well-equipped to help caregivers and families navigate the aging process of their loved ones, and they may draw on Interpersonal Therapy to help facilitate improved interactions between seniors and those that care for them.
