For those interested, I specialize in EMDR therapy.
Change is something we all experience and struggle through. Whether navigating the pain of a loss, the complications of a new or altered relationship, or a new diagnosis- it can feel lonely and daunting. Maybe the transition of life you are in is expected- entering parenthood, changing careers, or a readiness to address a painful experience from your past. Whatever the circumstances, change can feel debilitating.

What sets my approach apart is how I combine EMDR with somatic and holistic methods to support deep, sustainable healing.
If you feel overwhelmed by anxiety, feel stuck in old patterns, or burdened by pain from your past, you're not alone. You might be carrying unspoken wounds whether from trauma, childhood experiences, navigating life as BIPOC or someone exploring faith and belonging. You’re not just looking for symptom relief; you’re seeking real, lasting transformation. I’m also a provider with the Victims Compensation Assistance Program (VCAP) if you've experienced a crime-related trauma, you may be eligible for support at no cost to you. However we work together, I bring warmth, presence, and attunement because you are worthy of healing.

I blend different therapeutic modalities with traditional talk therapy, such as mindfulness and EMDR, to resolve these issues.
You know yourself better than anyone else: your struggles, dreams, desires, goals, feelings, relationships. As a psychotherapist and trauma specialist, I help people understand their experiences in a safe and supportive space that promotes growth, healing, and exploration of all areas of life. If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad, or easily triggered, talking with a professional can help you navigate through those emotions and find balance. Therapy can help people regain control/focus in their lives and disrupt the cycles that keep leading to the same negative outcomes.

Using guided meditations, somatic practices, creativity, and tools from EMDR therapy, we will dive into what is keeping you stuck, process current stressors, and you will learn coping skills to help you feel lighter and find more joy and self-love.
You feel like talk therapy is getting you nowhere. You want to be the best version of yourself but keep coming up short. You overthink things you said or did, feel anxious, and like you are not good enough. Maybe you are struggling to move past previous traumas or negative patterns. You are motivated to make changes and have tried some strategies but nothing works. You often find yourself overworked, overwhelmed, or stressed out. There are so many things on your plate and it feels like you can never catch a break. It would be amazing to find some relief and solutions that will have a lasting impact. It's time for a change.

Through EMDR, I also support clients as they safely process past traumatic experiences so those memories hold less emotional charge in the present moment.
I know it feels impossible to turn off your worried thoughts that are leaving you worn out and unfocused. It feels like nothing you do is ever enough and you are always beating yourself up, so much so that it impacts your mood...and you are tired of it. You deserve to live your best life. My purpose is to help you on your journey to create real change and deep healing- a life where past trauma does not shape your current life. I help you feel empowered to set and reach goals. We all benefit from having a consistent, supportive person in our lives. I'll cheer you on while also offering concrete skills to help you through challenges.

I also have training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR) , a treatment designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories.
You feel anxious, stuck, and overwhelmed. Perhaps you’ve been told you’re “too sensitive,” or maybe that you worry or expect too much. It’s hard to feel heard and understood by those around you. You struggle to feel good enough, to have trust that things will work out. You want nothing more than to feel calm, connected, and secure in your life, but you don’t know where to begin. If any of this sounds familiar, you've come to the right place.

Life can be exciting, scary, beautiful, painful, and most often is a combination of all of these. It may feel that the ground beneath us constantly shifts as we work to keep our balance. Some days it is a challenge just to get out of bed and face the day. Other days seem easy, we have energy and we wonder how to make it last. At times we may find ourselves engaging in unhealthy behaviors trying to quiet the anxiety that never completely resolves no matter how hard we try. Self-doubt creeps in, we question not only our choices but our very selves. Traumatic events, recent or remote, may shake our foundation and make us wonder if we will ever feel safe again. Life is hard and messy and beautiful, all at the same time. Therapy can help you discover your personal strengths and resources, allowing you to confidently face the hard and messy parts. Therapy can also help you connect with your courage to pursue and embrace all that makes life beautiful for you. In addition to acceptance, empathy and guidance, I offer my belief in your ability to grow and flourish when you can’t find it in yourself.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
