Welcome! If you're looking for a therapist who is more than just an active listener - one who is going to challenge you, offer you tangible skills and help restore your trust in your body and your mind - you're in the right place. Maybe you want to heal your attachment wounds to improve your relationships, get back to your sport after injury or have another baby after a traumatic birth experience. Maybe you're not sure what "getting better" would look like, and you need someone to help you set attainable goals.

I have been trained in a number of psychotherapeutic modalities and, over the past few years, have largely focused my work with clients on the Internal Family Systems ( IFS) model of therapy.
Through the process of self-discovery, clients can heal feelings of depression, anxiety, grief, fear and other difficult emotions to actualize their fullest potential and choose open-hearted connection with Self and others. Clients can also use this model to help with parts around impulsivity or parts that keep them stuck in stubborn patterns.

Life can feel heavy and overwhelming sometimes. You might be carrying pain you haven’t been able to name or facing challenges that leave you feeling disconnected from yourself and others. I work with teens, young adults, and adults who are seeking deeper insight, emotional healing, and authentic change. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive and affirming. My background as an immigrant and woman of color informs the way I listen, hold space, and offer support with care, humility, and respect for each person’s lived experience.

I provide Existential, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and Ketamine-Assisted therapies.
I do my best work with clients who are curious about themselves, have a good sense of humor, and are often at a significant transition point in their lives. Clients most often begin working with me around issues related to trauma, anxiety, or relational wounding and are seeking new ways to relate to themselves, others, and the world around them. My overarching goal in my work with clients is to help them move through the world with a greater degree of consciousness, courage, and compassion - whatever that may mean or look in their lives.

You’ve done the work. Therapy isn’t new to you—you’ve been there, talked through it, gained awareness. You get why you are the way you are, but despite all of that, you still feel stuck. Like no matter how much you understand your past, something deeper is keeping you in survival mode. Maybe you had to grow up fast. Maybe life didn’t give you much room to just be a kid. You’re great at figuring things out, staying strong, analyzing your feelings—but sometimes, it feels like you’re thinking your way around healing instead of actually feeling it. That’s where I come in.

My approach to treatment of complex trauma is an integrative triphasic approach that utilizes psychodynamic therapy, ego states, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, ACT, Forward-Facing Trauma Therapy, and EMDR.
You’ve survived what should have broken you, but the impact of those experiences lingers in sneaky ways—dissociation, shame, emotional numbness, or feeling stuck in unhealthy / toxic patterns that no longer serve you or the person you're becoming. You long for deeper connections to safe people, crave relief from overwhelm, or need to break cycles of trauma, especially as a parent. You want to heal, to feel whole, and to reclaim / unconditionally embrace the parts of yourself lost to survival. Learning to be important to yourself can be challenging if you were never safe enough to be important before. Trust is scary.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
