The symptoms these interventions help with are grief/sadness, depression/numbness, general or specific fears and anxieties, panic attacks, relationship conflict/codependence, physical ailments with an emotional component, obsessive thoughts, and trauma related thoughts and reactions.
Bri is a somatic practitioner providing therapy for adults, specifically those experiencing anxiety/panic, depression, and trauma related issues. The main intervention she uses is NET (Neuro Emotional Technique), along with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), while incorporating mindfulness-based practices. I specialize in treating adolescents, adults, and families with varying mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, self-esteem, confidence, stress, family conflict and trauma.
I’ve always wanted to be in a role that helped people grow. I have been a mental health professional since 2010, working throughout one’s developing stages. Initially I began working with children with autism, ADHD, and behavioral issues. After becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, I transitioned to family-based therapy, supporting the strengthening of bonds and minimizing conflict. Subsequently, I received certification as an Advance Alcohol and Drug Counselor, assisting teenagers and adults struggling with co-occurring disorders.

In essence, through mindfulness a person can change their relationship wih fear.
I provide therapy for adolescents and adults with all anxiety disorders using mindfulness based cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). Specifically, I work with people who have obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic with or without agoraphobia, and specific fears such as driving, flying, getting needles, you name it. I integrate mindfulness training with CBT because exposure to what is feared can feel overwhelming without mindfulness training or some other way of weathering extreme fear.

I have been a psychotherapist for more than 20 years, and during this time have worked primarily with LGBTQ+ individuals and couples.
My goal is for each person I work with to feel seen and accepted as they are, and over time to be able to view themselves through a compassionate lens that acknowledges both strengths and challenges. I approach therapy as both a learning and a healing experience. I work to help people identify and understand their values, beliefs, and behavioral and relational patterns, so that they can assess whether these continue to be a good fit for them.

My work is grounded in the importance of relationship.
Have you ever felt stuck or weighed down by life? Are you looking for rest and support in your everyday life? Or maybe you’re ready to get to the root of the pain you’ve been holding onto. Life is full of changes and decisions that can feel overwhelming. Often times what we need is a safe space to process these emotions and feel seen and heard.

For over 35 years, I have helped people of all ages to ease their burdens, face doubt and overcome emotional afflictions with warmth, empathy, and safety. I believe compassion is the cornerstone of a trusting relationship. More recently I have been guiding people to happier, more meaningful lives and relationships by focusing on their often unrealized strengths to facilitate change, have them live more consciously, and become who they want to be.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is essential.
I am a clinical psychologist who's been in practice for over 25 years. I find that therapy is most effective when the therapist and client work together. While providing suggestions and insight, I aim for therapy to be an interactive and respectful process, one that encourages personal growth, behavioral changes and self-awareness. Together, we will address your unique needs and learn new ways to cope with and heal from the issues that have been troubling to you.

I'm a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in treating children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples confronting: depression, anxiety, grief, attention/learning problems, oppositional/defiant "behaviors," anger, mood disorders, couple conflict/divorce, parenting difficulties, and other realtional problems.
If we often struggle to connect with ourselves and with others, then how can we feel safe, how can we make sense of what's happening inside, how can we make sense of what's happening between us and others? I help people find meaningful ways to effectively communicate and connect with themselves and each other, make sense of their experiences and relationships, and ultimately, find a path toward healing. I believe in the innate drive of every person to move toward health. With acceptance, curiosity, and compassion, I help people slow down, attune to that drive, and support them in moving with it.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
