I have found that humor, empathy and understanding, for oneself and others, are key elements in building relationships with people. These qualities are the foundation of all good psychotherapy. I am comfortable working with people from varying spiritual traditions. My abilities are well suited to people who are emotionally sensitive or traumatized. I have worked well with individuals who have had treatment failures in the past, people who are creative, gifted individuals, adolescents and children. Play therapy is effective with children who have cognitive delays.

Improving the quality of your life is my focus. I've found that through talk therapy that can happen. Our experiences and our relationships contribute to the person we are today and how we respond to the world around us. I usually work first from a practical and cognitive-behavioral level, which may deepen eventually to inner personal levels through use of dreams (from a Jungian perspective) and sometimes Sand Play. I emphasize protection of trust and the therapeutic process as much as possible and help the individuals and family members who I work with to understand the reasoning. Each person is unique and I anticipate and enjoy building a relationship that assumes collaboration. I then work with them toward activating their own healing potential, no matter the age, with the hope that it is a lifelong learning and ability.
