Our work together will include an exploration of your family history, along with developing ways to connect to inner and outer supports. Through the therapeutic relationship, and a wide variety of tools for increasing awareness and self-regulation, support is given to increase feelings of self acceptance, confidence, and emotional balance.

I believe that success in psychotherapy ultimately depends on developing a genuine dialogue between you as a person, and me as your therapist. The gentle art of change also means discussing the context of your life-- where you are at now-- and how you got there (including how you developed and maintain the values you live by). Your values provide the "richness" to living. Most of all, the process of psychotherapy means understanding what you've already tried, whether it has worked (or not worked) -- and yes-- what gets in the way of you living a better life.

Feeling alone in your struggles can be so defeating. My clients often find when given a safe, trusting space--free from judgement--they can find relief and solutions to these struggles. Many of them need help in making sense of how their past experiences influence who they are today, while we work towards, and discover, who they want to be. My clients are frequently healing--from trauma, from grief, from relationships--and find that the emotions that accompany these experiences can be overwhelming and confusing. Therapy can help with this.

Do you feel overwhelmed by responsibilities and unable to enjoy relationships in your life? Do you find yourself always with unhealthy partners? Are you unhappy about the interactions you have with your child? Relationships difficulties are a major source of distress, but at the same time, relationships are what makes our life meaningful. Problems with relationships may be rooted in difficult experiences you had in the past, in current circumstances that prevent you from being present with your loved ones, and in difficulties adapting to changes in your life.

If you feel like you have tried everything and nothing works, I get you! I strongly believe that we all have an inner wisdom deep within us, but through our life experiences and social influences, most of us lose access to our Real truth. In our work together I will guide and support you as we peel back the layers so that you can reconnect with your deeper sense of self. As you begin to make that connection, shift happens. My hope is for you to leave my office feeling empowered in your healing journey.

Out of Network Therapists
An out-of-network Therapist in Austin has not agreed to any set rate with your insurer. Your plan may require higher co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance for out-of-network care and you may need to pay the difference between your insurer's allowed amount and what the Therapist charges.

The costs for an Austin out-of-network Therapist also depend on your type of plan:

In a Health Maintenance Organization, or HMO, or Exclusive Provider Network, or EPO, you generally have to pay the full cost of any out-of-network care.

In a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) or Point-of-Service (POS) plan, you will usually have to pay a higher deductible and or a higher co-pay plus a higher percentage co-insurance plus, the difference between the allowed amount and your provider's actual rate.
