I am a licensed counselor who works with adults and especially enjoy working with young adults. My specific areas of focus include OCD, anxiety disorders, phobias, panic attacks, self-esteem, perfectionism, life transitions, relationship dynamics, and stress management. I use a flexible and collaborative approach in developing goals and defining what a full and meaningful life looks like for you. As these struggles often involve high levels of guilt and shame, I make every effort to provide a safe place where you feel comfortable, understood, and not judged.

With nearly a decade experience in the treatment field, I have worked with individuals on a wide variety of life struggles. I am particulary interested in working with mothers experiencing infertility, pregnancy, and post-partum. Also, as a former law enforcement officer, I thoroughly enjoy working with first responders, nurses and veterans, especially with trauma histories. Most of all, I love working with those who want to grow and evolve.

With a background in teaching, career and college counseling, my specialty is helping clients learn how to cope with school and career-related stressors. Additionally, as a writer, I offer clients an understanding into the creative life. My clinical experience in mental health has been focused on helping clients navigate the various transitions throughout the lifespan related to a variety of psychosocial stressors. Additionally, I am experienced in anxiety and mood management, teaching clients both how to become more aware of these symptoms and how to apply behavioral skills to these symptoms in an effective way.

I have a history working with adults, children, couples and families. I enjoy working with a diverse population. Change is inevitable in life however how one moves through it is up to the individual. Behavior is changeable but only by the person that has the behavior not by his/her partner, parent, friend etc.

There are times and events in our lives that disrupt this narrative and strain our coping skills, our vision of ourselves and, at times, the meaning of our lives. Whether the moment that we decide to seek out therapy is the culmination of events or the result of a significant change, it is an important decision.

I specialize in treating pre-teens, teens, and adults. I have years of experience treating clients with ADHD, behavioral disorders, depression, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, stress and anger management, poor self-esteem, life transition issues, social/emotional difficulties impacting a child's learning, grief, divorce and family adjustments, trauma and loss.

My practice and interventions start where you are. I specialize in working with clients struggling with a wide range of stressors. I do not believe in a one size fits all model, and will pull from different approaches utilizing interventions that best fit your needs. We will work together to develop a treatment plan with achievable goals that makes sense for you. My training as a yoga instructor guides my interventions in being keenly aware of the mind/body connection and the impact of emotional health on the body.
