Although I treat many different issues, my biggest passions are healing wounds from childhood sexual abuse, working with mood disorders, and helping find a healthy balance in daily life.

Life can be messy. Things don't always go the way we plan. When that happens, we can feel stuck. Stuck in anger, sadness, and frustration which can lead to symptoms of anxiety, depression and feelings of helplessness It is my belief that people have the ability and strength to cope with life's unexpected turns and disappointments. Sometimes, we just need some extra support and encouragement to understand and process our complex feelings and realize the potential and resiliency that lies within.

At the root of all psychological and emotional distress, is the absence of/or lack of love, acceptance and belonging. When this need is not met, we consciously and subconsciously find other ways to fill the void, often through self-destructive behaviors and emotional self-loathing. The vast majority of people do not know how to love themselves or find value in who they are, especially when coming from backgrounds of abuse, addiction or abandonment. When a person understands their value, their self-worth, their reason for being, the psychological and emotional distress dissipates, and behaviors change.

As a telehealth-only therapist, I enjoy working with adults who are trying to navigate life after a trauma, along with those struggling with Depression and/or Anxiety. I enjoy providing a safe place for clients to share their story, identify their strengths and enhance them, and find new, positive communication and coping skills to better handle challenges. I also work well with clients who feel comfortable with using humor and limited self-disclosure by the therapist.
