I believe people are courageous to face their individual and relationship challenges. My role as a therapist is to assist my clients toward a more desirable future and provide a safe, non-judgmental, supportive environment that nurtures growth and healing. I approach therapy from an integrative holistic perspective. My approach is influenced largely by but not limited to Client-centered, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy), EMDR (Eye-movement desensitization reprocessing) trauma therapy, play therapy, sandtray, expressive arts, and Neurofeedback Brain Training for individuals and families.

I provide individual and family therapy to address client and family social, emotional and behavioral concerns. I am specialized in working with victim trauma, general mental health problems, substance abuse, chronic behavioral health problems, and youth with sexually maladaptive behavior issues. I also have experience working with children and families struggling with history of domestic violence, addiction, and working with adolescents on aggression replacement, acceptance and responsibility and implementing healthy lifestyles. This practice does NOT get involved in custody/divorce cases.

At times the challenges we are presented with can be painfully overwhelming. Some of our choices and habits along with our need for companionship affect our judgment. Indecisiveness and complacency can manifest as unsatisfying patterns of behavior or disheartening relationships. I believe it is possible to create meaningful changes, to be the person you want to be and live a happy, fulfilling life. For young client's fun and play are important. Incorporating creative, expressive art and play therapy interventions is my specialty. This is a great way to connect with children and teens unresponsive to traditional forms of therapy.

Jordan Helms, MSW, LCSW, received her Master of Social Work from Syracuse University and is a licensed clinical social worker in Arizona. She also has a specialty certification in animal-assisted therapy from the Institute for Human-Animal Connection. Jordan is part of the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) community. She is social justice-oriented, culturally responsive, and LGBTQ+ affirming. She enjoys working with individuals ten years of age through young adulthood and has deep experience working with LGBTQ+, ADHD/ASD, anxiety, depression, and self-injurious behavior.
