Family & Children's Counseling Services (FCCS) wants to be that support system for you and your family as you find healing and a restored sense of hope for the future.

I believe in the inherent wisdom of the body and incorporate emotional and somatic awareness into my holistic practice. By listening to the body, we can navigate past traumas and painful experiences together. Additionally, I explore issues within the broader context of an individual's life, showing curiosity about diversity factors such as gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, class, ability, religion, spirituality, and community.

When life feels out of control we search for things to calm us down and feel in control again. Yet, too often our problems remain unresolved and we end up feeling empty. Maybe you've been in a cycle of failed relationships and are wondering why. Perhaps your emotions are getting the best of you and life is a little messy as a result.

We feel pain in many ways; worry, anger, confusion, and sadness. Our past has taught us how to respond to these feelings. Problems start when what we've learned no longer works to get us relief. Our first goal is to learn why you act and feel the way you do. That awareness is fundamental, but awareness doesn’t bring change, it brings choice. From there I help you move toward choices that get you what you want. I focus on emotions because they communicate something we can’t yet speak. I am a licensed clinical social worker licensed in multi-states. The majority of my clinical experience has been providing individual therapy services to adolescents and adults. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and family issues. My approach combines person-centered, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and solution focused modalities. I am also EMDR trained.

We can gently explore the origins of your feelings and work through how they show themselves. Our work will be focused in the here and now: by exploring who you are right now, change in your outlook or actions becomes possible. Generally, I use ideas firmly grounded in psychoanalytic theory and technique that are informed by my personal practice of Zen meditation of over ten years. Paying attention to what you do and how you feel can reveal the source of discomfort.

I have over 17 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adults, couples, and adolescents. I started my career at John's Hopkins Hospital working as a clinician in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry. I’ve also worked on interdisciplinary clinical mental health teams in schools, treatment centers and in private practice.

I serve couples/throuples who are in one of two kinds of situations. 1) At least one person is so hurt or hopeless they aren't sure whether they want to stay in the relationship. 2) Everyone wants to keep this relationship; they want it to be the best version of the relationship. And they're having trouble getting there.
