I SEE CLIENTS 18 AND OLDER for individual therapy. Sometimes all of life seems overwhelming. Other times a single event triggers intense reactions and emotions. Still other times natural life transitions – finishing a degree, changing careers, marriage, parenthood, divorce, or retirement – stir up unexpected emotions. Counseling offers an opportunity to process thoughts & feelings, evaluate current habits and build new skills, leading to improved self-respect, healthier relationships and progress toward life goals.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and Oklahoma Counseling Association (OCA). I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Counseling Psychology degree, both from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, adults and families in an outpatient setting as well as school-based setting. I incorporate solution-focused as well as cognitive-behavioral and reality based therapy solutions. I am EMDR fully trained.

I have a straightforward style and a gift for getting to the heart of complicated family and emotional problems. My passion is helping people through difficult times on their journey through life. I have many years of experience focusing on children, adolescents, and women going through life changes.

I am EMDR trained, and have experience with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional-Defiant Disorder, anxiety, depression and trauma and children with Asperger's Syndrome.

I enjoy helping patients with their mental health issues by identifying their strengths and working to overcome the problems that they face. I help my clients understand that we all face challenges and that we are not alone in our struggles. I address each of my clients needs at their own level and empower them to find their own solution to their individual issues.

I have witnessed that major change, crisis, loss, or prolonged stress can throw an individual or family off-kilter, adversely affecting entire worlds and contributing to depression, anxiety, and family conflict. Seeking treatment may improve one's self-awareness, self-esteem, and interpersonal relationships. I specialize in helping people understand, process, and develop ways of managing grief and loss; marital or relationship issues; family and work crises; trauma and abuse; illness; and end-of-life concerns. The goal of this practice is to support emotional, psychological, and spiritual growth and wellbeing in a safe environment.

I work collaboratively with individuals with OCD, anxiety, phobias, tic, and BFRBs. I provide ethical and evidence-based services by immersing myself in continuing education and training led by up-to-date research in order to provide focused care for individuals with issues in these specific areas. It takes a great deal of bravery to walk into a therapist's office -and- research says working with a therapist is essential in successfully addressing these diagnoses. My role is to honor that bravery with care, acceptance, and options toward the changes you want to see.

My aim is to help people enrich their relationships and live a life consistent with their values. In working through depression, anxiety, trauma, spiritual issues, relational issues, grief and loss, identity issues, or a multitude of other issues, I strive to demonstrate respect and understanding for each person's unique experience, while also using my training and experience to challenge problematic patterns and foster growth.

I believe that we all have strengths within us that give us the capacity for healing, but often difficult life events can cause us to lose touch with those strengths. As a result, our coping abilities are often compromised, and seem outside of our ability to reclaim. It has been my experience to help individuals reconnect with their strengths, and use the abilities within themselves to be restored to the best version of who they can be.
