I regard much of 'psychopathology' as well-intended (but ineffective) efforts to contend with pain and fear, and to pursue needs and wants. So, in psychotherapy, I invite my clients to explore, identify, and take guidance from their emotional experiences, honoring their depression, anxiety, and other symptoms while finding more effective ways of living well. I also provide psychological and neuropsychological assessments.

I am a Clinical Psychologist specializing in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), all types of anxiety disorders, depression, hoarding, misophonia, tics, hair-pulling disorder, and stress disorders. I also work with ADHD, school refusal, and other child behavioral issues. I practice evidence-based cognitive-behavioral treatments that are proven effective in clinical research. I monitor the latest research developments to ensure that you receive the most effective treatment available. My treatment focus is short-term, and I work closely with clients to define specific goals, tailor treatment plans, and evaluate ongoing progress.

You may have a teen that is challenged emotionally or socially, and would rather see a clinician through telehealth, I'm available in the afternoons and evenings too. I am using Telehealth, which gives you more flexibility with your schedule. It is a safe, comfortable way to get help. I have over 25 years of varying experience in the Social Work profession. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia since 1996.

We may use individual, family, or group therapy, relapse prevention, education, medication, or MAT/MOUD. Our Dual Diagnosis Recovery Program is for people struggling with both a mental health and drug/alcohol issue. We know that recovery does not always mean abstinence.
