"As a retired school counselor with extensive background in dealing with substance abuse issues, I am best positioned to assist clients with difficulties related to social, academic or behavioral issues. I am particularly attuned to the ways in which parenting styles impact upon the functioning of children and to the most efficient ways of creating change to promote the likeliness of a person's or family's success and happiness. At times, these are most effectively addressed through an examination and fostering of an individual's goal-setting and motivation and how these may encumber his or her movement on the path to future satisfaction."

"I believe in the positive life force in each person that seeks to grow and to move forward. I work together with my clients from a strengths-based perspective to collaboratively find and unlock that life force, to open up places that are stuck, to find new pathways, to process and heal emotions, and to work through and heal relationships. I also work with couples and families to build connection and better communication. In deepening an understanding of cycles of interaction, couples and families find new ways to relate to one another and are able to create possibilities that were not present before."

"Feeling stuck, unfulfilled or wondering why you keep finding yourself repeating the same behavior expecting different results? I work with clients on becoming curious about what lies at the root of their behavioral patterns that might have worked in the past but no longer feel positive. We work on identifying inner strengths and optimizing their use for personal empowerment and increased life enjoyment. Tailoring treatment to best respond to individual needs is important to me. I offer traditional talk therapy as well as art therapy. Many clients find the creative process helpful in facilitating self awareness and insight."

"I have over ten years of experience helping clients, particularly sex addicts, with the challenging, often frightening task of achieving their potential. When people come into my office, they are usually stuck. Stuck in destructive, out of control behaviors. Stuck in ways of coping with past traumas that are not allowing them to move forward. Their distress at being stuck is palpable, as is their motivation to move forward with their lives. It is this motivation I begin with, the strength it takes to honestly face what isn't working. Together, we can transform being stuck into flying free."

"Are you experiencing problems that seem to be getting in your way of living a fulfilling life? Do you feel ignored, unaccepted or maybe your life just feels chaotic? We all may have felt that way some time or another. Most of the time we move on and continue on with our life. However sometimes we feel stuck, and despite being told (or telling ourselves) "just get over it” we can’t! There is something that holds us back and we cannot make sense of what is happening to us."

"Many people choose to begin therapy because they want to feel better, be more successful at work, or have better relationships. Psychotherapy can be helpful in addressing the emotional or sometimes even physical pain that can get in the way of such goals. The kind of psychotherapy that I practice involves careful listening and exploration of one's difficulties and how those difficulties tend to repeat or consistently present in a variety of contexts. I work with clients that appreciate that lasting change is indeed possible, and have the courage to forgo the false promise of a "quick fix"."

"Admitting you need help takes courage and maturity. Taking the first step can be hard, but I encourage you to do it. It is worth it! Therapy is a process of self-exploration, inner change and growth, which can help you heal, untangle challenges and arrive at a place of greater clarity and peace. Therapy helps you uncover new ways to cope, think, relate, and solve problems, and can help you find the inner-resources necessary to make the changes you desire to be your best self and live life to its fullest. I provide an environment that is safe and supportive for you to do this work. You will grow from the experience! "

"The most difficult and rewarding action we can take as humans is to reach out for support when it's needed most. Taking the time to reflect and become curious about why you do what you do, is priceless, and can lead to living an authentic life. In the uncertain world we are all a part of, experiences with anxiety, depression and grief can become even more overwhelming. We can work to develop and enhance methods for coping with these experiences through a practice of self-care, self-compassion and gratitude."
