Are you living the life you want? I use Gestalt, Existential, psychodynamic, body-oriented, group, couples, and family systems therapy as a way of looking at underlying issues. The aim is personal transformation and more creative living. I have a background in working with addictions, grief, anxiety, depression, self neglect, and abandonment issues. We will focus on self-care, life transitions, self-expression, and support for an abundant life. I especially like working with people where they feel stuck and unable to move forward. My overall approach involves helping people move from the spirit of seriousness to the spirit of play.
Diane's concept of diligent self care derives from insight into the subtle forms of self- neglect. Even if we are equipped with intellectual insight and interpretation of our own stories, we may fall prey to subtle traps that stand in the way of being emotionally present with self and others. Listening to the body can often help us to get out of our heads.
Diane is a creative writer and former business owner, with expertise in business problems and with writing and creativity blocks. She was staff assistant to Roger Ebert, film critic. Her company, Diligent Self Care, focuses on the more subtle forms of self neglect and how to overcome these with emotional intelligence.
