Hello! I’m Dr. Oscar Melendez, a bilingual (English–Spanish) clinician, and I’m pleased to share that I am currently accepting new patients ages 3 and older. I provide affirming, holistically oriented psychotherapy with a focus on assertive communication, emotional regulation, and work with vulnerable populations. My areas of specialization include depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, and individual, couples, and family counseling. I currently hold a Clinical Psychologist license in Puerto Rico and a Provisional Psychologist license in Texas.
I am a bilingual post-doctoral fellow in Clinical Psychology. I am a doctor in clinical psychology from the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (PHSU) Ponce, Puerto Rico. I also have a specialty track in sex and gender diversity populations.
My specialty is working with prejudiced and disadvantaged populations. With my psychoanalytic ethics, affirming style, and humanistic model, I expect to assist those who have been discriminated or have any mental health difficulties in achieving well-being in their lives. I have experience working holistically with children, families, couples, and adults.
