Life tends to hand us some unexpected challenges that can catch us off guard, or even knock us off our feet. Grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions and relational hurts rob us of our peace, leave us feeling anxious, unable to make progress, and can challenge our core identity. I have extensive experience helping people through a wide range of challenges and struggles throughout my twenty years in pastoral care ministries. Processing the journey in a safe, supportive, trauma informed, environment sets the foundation for those experiences to make you stronger instead of chipping away at your heart.

Too often, when we are young, we are taught that large emotions should be smothered and/or hidden, leading to a future filled with conflict avoidance, difficulties with self-esteem, and a belief around not being able to have an influence in their own life. I am looking to help those who want a course-correction, who want to learn how to be able to set and enforce boundaries with friends, family, and strangers alike, and who want to believe that they deserve those things.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and just need a place to breathe, I’d be honored to sit with you. I’m here to walk alongside you through whatever you’re carrying; whether that’s stress, grief, trauma, relationship struggles, or a sense of being stuck or disconnected.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in care coordination, helping individuals and families navigate complex systems to get the support they needed. That experience deeply shaped my belief that healing should be accessible and rooted in real, human connection.

Raising healthy and happy children with ADHD can be a big job, but the good news is that you do not have to do it alone. There is a lot that can be done to help! ADHD is a complex neurodevelopmental condition that impacts each child differently. ADHD has little to do with how "smart" your child might be, but it has a lot to do with your child's ability to regulate their attention, mood, and behaviors. When symptoms of ADHD lead to lower self-esteem, mental health concerns, behavioral challenges, or academic struggles, it is a good time to seek professional help.

This “being human thing” is hard, and often feels uncomfortable. Sometimes the “uncomfortable” is experienced internally, sometimes externally, and sometimes both. This is a result of our actual or perceived response to the past, present, or future. Our work together will be focused on helping you to be “uncomfortable on purpose,” through identifying your values, increasing your capacity to tolerate uncertainty, processing what has maintained your current ways of living, and learning how to engage with yourself and others in a way that makes this “being human thing” a little bit easier.

Are you feeling stuck in the same painful patterns with your partner—arguing, withdrawing, or feeling unseen no matter how hard you both try? As a therapist trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I focus on helping you and your partner understand the deeper emotions and unmet needs driving your conflicts. Together, we’ll uncover the cycles that keep you apart and build new patterns of trust, emotional responsiveness, and secure connection. Not accepting new clients currently. We are all capable of thriving. Sometimes, we may need an intentional space to find out how to make living well a reality. Life can become overwhelming when facing large transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, spiritual questioning, substance abuse or relationship stressors. These can bring us into a valley of barely being able to function; mind distracted, body exhausted, restless, and/or isolated. These may bring up old, familiar feelings that show it's time to make room for new healing.

People sometimes have a hard time getting through troubles alone. Depression, anxiety or trauma can keep you from living fully. Relationships may be full of conflict. It can be hard to find the trust to try.
I believe there's something valuable about all the different sides of yourself. For example, wounds can be protected by your adult side, and self criticism can turn into an inner teacher.
Often people struggle with relationships. When you learn skillful ways of expressing emotions and listening, your relationships become much more satisfying. One of my specialties is couples counseling; I offer a workshop for couples.

You were just talking about laundry. Or was it dishes? Or who forgot to pick up the dog from daycare? Either way, five minutes later you're in a full-blown argument, wondering how a sock on the floor turned into a referendum on your entire personality. You’re trying so hard not to yell, to listen, to stay calm - but somehow it always ends with one of you Googling “communication tips for couples” at 2 a.m. with a pint of ice cream.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not broken. You’re just stuck in a painful pattern - and there’s a way out.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
