My practice is informed by depth psychology, EMDR, attachment theory, mindfulness, somatics, and transpersonal psychology.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process in which deep, lasting, positive changes emerge. Anxiety, low self esteem, trauma, relationship problems, and life transitions can prevent you from living a full life. I can help you increase your self confidence, overcome the effects of trauma, resolve past hurts and conflicts, develop confidence in yourself as a good friend and loving partner, change old patterns, and balance career and personal choices. I provide an atmosphere of acceptance and curiosity where hurts and conflicts are released, and confidence, insight, trust, and wisdom are strengthened.

All of us experience some confusion, anxiety, sadness, or conflict periodically, but if daily life becomes characterized by those feelings, something about life is out of balance. Do you feel stuck in a relationship or job, or troubled with negative, or fearful thoughts that won't go away? Sometimes we can loose a sense of hopefulness and pleasure about life. Perhaps we experienced a recent or far distant loss that left us floundering in sadness and grief. Maybe we have become weary searching for spiritual fulfillment, yet finding most ideas of a higher power to be disheartening or unbelievable.

My unique approach to psychotherapy begins with you. I listen deeply to the narrative of your past, as well as the story you would like to live into. Your authentic life is one that can be cultivated through an active and creative healing process that centers self-discovery. We can work together to help you find a new relationship with embodiment by learning about your nervous system and what is stored there. Then, we gently move toward repatterning and awakening – aligning thoughts, feelings, and behavior with your true values. I integrate trauma theory, ART, depth psychology, attachment, existential, and anti-oppression lenses.

What would your life look like, if freedom was awakened? What might need to be accepted, changed, shifted, released, or tended to for empowerment or autonomy to be felt or be embraced? I have discovered, that in order to make a change in one’s life, one must first accept the reality that a change needs to be made. This can be excruciatingly painful to be awake to these parts of our lives or selves that we have spent so much of our lives hiding from, ignoring, or denying. And, in those dark and painful shadows often lies the answers to our suffering.

Welcome, I’m Kelly. Grief and loss change us. Whether you’re mourning a death, a relationship, or a version of yourself, grief can leave you feeling overwhelmed, numb, or disconnected. Many people are carrying grief related to the social climate— a loss of trust and hope. Therapy with me is a place where your experience is met with care—not minimized or explained away. I work well with thoughtful people who are used to holding a lot inside. My style is collaborative, compassionate, and emotionally engaged. You don’t have to carry this on your own.

Therapy doesn't have to be abstract, pathologizing, or endless. I love working with people who have a big vision, dream, or calling—folks facing daunting endeavors—and helping them get there. Scholars and scientists; creatives and artists; healers and spiritualists; founders, leaders, builders, and entrepreneurs; change-makers and activists; folks in tech and startups, especially public benefit and non-profit—critical and divergent thinkers who find it hard to just "go through the motions" or engage with the norm. People with big picture mindsets and deep, niche interests, focused on differences that make a difference.

At it's core, therapy is about transformation. Changing our life requires confronting changing something about our self. I can help you to explore how the problems of your present may have been useful solutions in the past. Through this process you can transform old, restrictive patterns and create space for new ways of being and experiencing.

How does transpersonal therapy work?
Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.

How long does transpersonal therapy last?
Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.

Is transpersonal therapy effective?
Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilize the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.

What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?
There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
