“The good life is a process… it’s a direction not a destination.” - Carl R. Rogers. - - I believe that people are strong and resilient with vast internal resources for transformation and healing. This is the foundation of my counseling practice. I see my role as creating conditions that increase access to those resources.

I believe the most valuable therapeutic relationships are those that honor and validate your past and present experiences, with the intention of identifying and navigating obstacles to healing and growth. I approach our work together with respect, empathy, curiosity, and authenticity, so you have a safe supportive place to explore: patterns of thought, feeling, physical sensation, and behavior; your relationship with yourself and with the important people in your life; and the valued directions in which you would like to travel.

I provide neurodiversity-affirming care to adults with ADHD or other neurodivergence, and can provide perspective from training/research and my lived experience. I specialize in working with men, and have studied the ways that masculinity can complicate emotional and mental health. I take an eclectic, client-centered, evidence-based approach that works to find a balance between current research and individual preferences and learning/interaction styles. In therapy I prioritize building skills that help you relate to yourself, your emotions, and your thoughts in more effective ways, while also exploring why current patterns formed.

Dr. King believed that “Human salvation lies in the hands of the creatively maladjusted.” I agree. Many family, school, work, economic, and social systems are unjust, and our relationships can be troubled, including relationships with our own bodies and minds. Our “maladjustment” happens for good reasons! In my opinion, many of the bodymind differences that get diagnosed as mental illness, chronic illness, and disabilities are normal and valuable aspects of human diversity. The purpose of therapy, therefore, is not to “fix” us but to help us bring more compassion, creativity, and transformation into our lives and our world.

I provide individual and family therapy to residents of Lane County, assisting clients with trauma, anxiety, family distress, substance abuse & addiction/recovery issues, life transition difficulties, and other life challenges. I utilize both time-honored and cutting edge therapeutic methods, realizing that therapy must be tailored to each unique individual or family to be effective. Coming from a systems background, I view problems as being embedded within the context of family, community, employment, educational, legal and other systems - affecting and being influenced by each of these.

I thoroughly enjoy my work with all of my clients, but especially my work with families and couples. My approach is relational, meaning I help clients understand "what happened" that is causing distress, rather than "what's wrong with you", as my clients have so often heard from other professionals. My therapy is trauma informed, even if trauma is not the presenting concern. I hold deep respect for all clients. The key to successful therapy is the therapeutic relationship, so this is my priority. I also provide both compassion and accountability for therapeutic goals.

Pursuing therapy is a courageous choice. I believe therapy offers a supportive, non-judgmental, and inclusive space in which to explore your innate capacity for growth and healing. I support children, adults, and families with concerns related to eating disorders, trauma and dissociation, LGBTQ+ experiences, chronic illness/disability issues, anxiety, somatic concerns, and life transitions. My therapeutic relationships are most often marked by compassion, warmth, humor, and empathy, and my overall approach is collaborative and client-centered, embodied by intersectional feminist, anti-oppressive, and social justice-oriented values.

Our environment influences how we see ourselves in the world; it shapes our internal narratives and our relationship with ourselves and others. As a BIPoC, immigrant therapist, it is my honor and duty to provide a safe space for BIPoC folx and immigrants and seek to help each person see their own power and heal their wounds. I seek to help individuals who may be working on healing from radicalized trauma and various forms internalized oppression in order to become the person they were meant to be. Understanding our own history and connection to our ancestors helps us to understand who we are today and helps us heal our Soul.

Unable to take new Trillium Medicaid OHP, Wellcare by Trillium Advantage, or Self-pay clients at this time. My therapeutic approach is the same as my approach to life: to provide those around me with a place to feel like themselves while working on themselves. As a mindfulness-rooted therapist, my passion lies in helping people become aware of their strengths and reclaim their power in a society that tells us we are small and unworthy. Talk Therapy paired with a variety of coping strategies is a powerful tool that can help bring awareness to repressed traumas, internalized negative beliefs, and self-sabotaging behaviors.

Cassie's is not accepting new clients “Should I Stay or Should I Go?” A great song and also a poignant question that creeps into the psyche of many couples at one point or another. You might feel lost, empty, and overwhelmed as you reflect on your relationship, questioning where things went off course. One moment, you’re filled with frustration, and the next, a wave of admiration hits—only to be followed by a sense of complete disconnect. These shifting emotions are exhausting, leaving you unsure of what you truly want or need. You’re not alone in this confusion, and it’s okay to seek clarity in a time when nothing feels certain.

Living in this moment in time can feel very stressful! Most clients I see are impacted by issues related to trauma, grief, relational distress, low self-worth, constant stress, anxiety, depression, chronic mental/physical illness, and experiencing oppression/marginalization for who they are, among other issues. They come seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, relief from emotional pain, guidance on navigating the complexities of relationships, and to learn how to manage life stressors, heal, live authentically, and ultimately, thrive.

Trauma isn't measured by what happened to you, it's measured by the internal impact left disrupting your wellbeing. I specialize in Trauma & Attachment therapy. My approach utilizes trauma interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), & Internal Family Systems (IFS) in combination with talk therapy and a strong relationship. Trauma can be a single event incident, childhood wounds from neglect and/or abuse, religious trauma, gender identity/LGBTQIA+ trauma and more. Those who suffer from trauma often struggle to control emotions, lack self-regulation, and face difficulties in relationships.

I have particular expertise in serving children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I am also interested in serving parents who are struggling with emotional difficulties that occur in the context of parenting. I also see adults experiencing difficulty with depression and anxiety. Prior to opening my practice, I had a 25-year research career studying depression, family processes, and developing cognitive-behavioral, and family interventions for depression and parenting difficulties. I have opened a practice to apply my skills and expertise in a clinical setting.
