AEDP Therapists in Springfield, OR

I enjoy helping move despair to vitality, and am influenced by Fosha's Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy and Gendlin's focusing awareness, or felt sensing.
Sometimes we can be dealt a lot of blows or disappointments in life and it's tough slogging though it alone. I welcome working with those who are facing transitions or relationship difficulties, have depression and/or anxiety, among other life issues. Sometimes family issues and past wounds can become a focus of treatment. Receiving therapeutic support during these critical moments can make a positive and lasting difference.

I draw from a variety of modalities, primarily EMDR, IFS, AEDP, Somatic Therapy, Humanistic Existential Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy.
Hi! I’m Molly. I recognize that we all hold innate capacity for growth, and with supportive conditions, we lean towards thriving like a seed seeking sunshine. So often though, trauma and pain can interrupt our natural tendency to heal which leads to harmful patterns, stuckness and suffering. Our work in therapy is to restore the torn relationship with the self, and step back into personal freedom and thriving. I believe therapy provides a container to cultivate trust and “un-do” aloneness. Together, we will hold your unique story, strengths, and challenges.

By addressing troubling thoughts and feelings, self-sabotaging behaviors, and traumas, life can be made more manageable, productive, and fulfilling. Feelings such as grief, shame, anxiety, sadness, and anger often signal that something needs to change. Listening to and working with these feelings—some that consume us and others that gently nudge us—can move us forward. Through this, we sometimes discover that our everyday dilemmas are part of larger patterns waiting to be resolved as a whole.

Whether you are struggling with relationship difficulties, past trauma, or depression/anxiety, therapy is a space for you to feel fully heard and understood, to process painful events in the presence of someone who attunes to you and explores with you, and to find your own truths, meaning, and direction. I am active, direct, and authentic in sessions, while also holding a lot of faith that your own answers will come into view as we move obstacles out of the way. I am passionate about working relationally in the here-and-now, as I've found it offers the most immediate path toward healing.

The techniques I use, primarily AEDP, are designed to provide clients with a new perspective on, and experience with, the issues they are looking to resolve.
It's time to focus on you. When you put yourself last on the list, and stop responding to your own needs, feelings of unhappiness and disconnection often follow. You don't have to struggle with these feelings alone. When working with me, clients describe having a new therapeutic experience - one in which they see genuine and positive change manifest in themselves and their lives.

I work with adults, couples, and families, drawing on evidence-based approaches like ACT, AEDP, DBT, EMDR, and ART.
As a busy professional, parent, or partner, life can feel like a blur at times, making it easy to lose sight of your values and desired life direction. This can be even more challenging for people who did not get the emotional nurturance they needed growing up.
When we aren’t used to tending to our own emotions and needs—focusing instead on others and what is expected of us—we are more prone to anxiety, self-doubt, people pleasing, harsh self criticism, and self neglect.
Therapy offers a safe, nonjudgmental space to understand yourself better, clarify what you need, and pursue what’s most important in your life.

I use experiential, relational approaches, like Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy ( AEDP) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) for individuals and couples.
Serving Oregon & California. If you hold a minoritized identity, or identities, you may be feeling pretty worn out. The world can be difficult to navigate right now, especially as a queer or trans person, a person of color, or a member of another marginalized group. Or maybe you’re feeling anxious or sad for all kinds of reasons, and want to talk with someone who can help you sort through those feelings without having to educate them about your identities. Whatever brings you here, you are considering the brave and vulnerable work of change, and that is huge.

AEDP Therapists
Who is AEDP therapy for?
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) is for adults who have experienced emotional pain in the past that, because it has not been adequately addressed and processed, interferes with current functioning. The problems might manifest in a number of different ways, from excessive anger to relationship difficulties to PTSD to eating disorders, poor self-esteem, and depression. They may also be accompanied by physiological symptoms. AEDP helps people accept and digest challenging emotional experiences.
Why do people need AEDP?
People need AEDP as a way to manage distressing emotions—including anger, shame, and guilt—that in some way hamper the ability to function and form satisfying relationships in the present. The therapist-client relationship is believed to provide corrective emotional and relational experiences that facilitate positive changes in brain function, forge pathways for processing traumatic experiences, and allow resolution of emotional pain.
What happens in AEDP therapy?
Once individuals have established a strong bond with the AEDP therapist and the therapist has established a safe and secure environment, clients are encouraged to explore their most painful emotional experiences. They may be asked to pay attention to disquieting body sensations as well as to psychological discomfort. Individuals learn how to process emotions, rather than avoid them. Through the strength of the therapist-client bond, each session is intended to provide a powerful positive experience for individuals, enabling growth.
What problems does AEDP treat?
AEDP is intended to treat the unprocessed emotional pain caused by earlier distressing experiences, which commonly includes behavioral avoidance of current situations and experiences for fear that they will reactivate painful feelings. Emotional pain and avoidant behavior play a role in a wide array of mental health conditions, which is why AEDP is applied to the treatment of a range of disorders including depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and eating disorders.
