That feeling you get when you can’t remember the last time you felt an intimate connection with your partner; it’s deep and it’s painful. Lying in bed, crying yourself to sleep as quietly as you can just hoping your partner reaches their hand out to hold you. You’re stuck swimming in your head about how this happened, and constantly trying to figure out if it’s you or if it’s them. Either way, it’s terrifying to think you may never feel that kind of connection again, no matter how or why. All you know for sure is you so desperately want it to change. Serving Oregon residents.

Are you overwhelmed by negative self-talk? Maybe you feel that no matter how hard you try, you somehow seem to miss the mark you set for yourself. Are you struggling with a sense of overwhelming anxiety, and your usual methods of coping are just not working anymore? Perhaps you've been hesitant to seek professional advice because you had a bad experience with a therapist, or you simply dislike labels. I am here to lend a hand. I strive to practice in a way that is most comfortable for my clients. For some, a diagnosis feels like validation; for others, it's a prison. I am happy to provide the service that best suits your needs.

As a counselor, I'm here to help. I am humbled to be of service helping you grow, heal, and learn from the challenges you face. It is my experience that people often come to counseling, " tangled up " from their own experiences, thoughts and feelings. Just the act of giving that gift of counseling support to yourself, taking time out from your daily life, and creating that space for reflection can bring immediate and lasting relief.

If your life had a resumé, “chameleon” would be at the top. You’re so good at figuring out others’ needs, they’d never suspect that you have them too. If you were honest with yourself, though, you’d admit how stressful it is to live for other people. You’re terrified you’ll lose relationships if you speak up or say no. Your energy is drained or you feel resentful. You’re exhausted from wondering if others like you or approve of you. If you make choices that disappoint others, you feel guilty and selfish. Your whole identity is about pleasing others, & you want to feel comfortable being your authentic self, but you have no idea how.

People come to therapy for many reasons. Most often, the primary reason is emotional pain and the desire for change. As humans, we stubbornly cling to patterns of thought and behavior that are not helping us live the lives we most want to live. I am a therapist with over 20 years of experience in mental health. I want to work with you in a collaborative approach to build awareness and skills to create a life that is meaningful to you. I bring to the therapy space active listening, an empathic and compassionate presence, strong clinical skills, and trauma-informed practices.

Are you looking for therapy or a psychological assessment tailored for women? Do you feel sad or anxious after having a baby? Do you feel stressed or overwhelmed as a parent? Does past trauma affect your life? You are not alone. It starts to feel scary when overwhelm takes over. What if the life with our partner could be as exciting as it was when you first got together? Has your relationship been shaky? What is your relationship to yourself? What do you tell yourself when having difficult times? Are you feeling stuck? Are you and your partner arguing all the time and just can’t get on the same page? Or maybe you aren’t really in that much conflict, but you don’t feel close or connected, and have been drifting apart. Yes, when relationships are difficult, many couples wonder.

If white knuckling, self shaming, pulling yourself up by your bootstraps worked, you’d be “cured” a billion times over. It doesn’t. At least not for me or people whose brains are different. Our minds race and it feels impossible to turn off and rest. Sometimes we use substances or other behaviors in a harmful way just to get through the day. There’s more to life out there. A more peaceful and meaningful life is possible. We need to go deeper and get to the root of things. I’ll go with you.

Therapy is a place to deepen one’s connection and relationship with the self, and to gain embodied insight about one’s personal process, dynamics, and patterning. It is also a place to explore one’s relationships to others to build more fulfilling connections and intimacy in one’s life. I offer various tools to support you in your journey, such as Internal Family Systems, mindful self compassion, guided visualization, and a somatic (body based) orientation to trauma. I hold deep respect and curiosity for differences such as race, class, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity. I am an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community.

You deserve to live fully and freely, to express yourself, and to be heard with curiosity and intent to understand. This often means unlearning behaviors or ideas that may have served us in the past and are now holding us back, releasing societal expectations that feel out of alignment with us, and learning what works for us now. We’ll work together to understand how your past shaped who you are, and to discover how you want to show up today.
