I view our human experience through a Transpersonal lens.
*Accepting New Clients* I help my clients recognize and work through their traumas, patterns, and blocks. They learn that deep within there is a truth that is yearning for recognition. At some level they are aware that this truth maps the path and purpose of their lives. We'll work together to find new paths of success and personal power. I reflect to them the wisdom and talents they hold within so that they may begin to own that identity and build confidence in becoming who they really are. I work from a framework that is Archetypal, Jungian, Somatic, Shamanic, Transpersonal , Holistic, Spiritual, and Vibrational/Energetic.

My perspective is rooted in Transpersonal , Gestalt, Existential/Humanistic, Jungian/Depth Psychology, Eco-Psychology, and Spiritual Guidance perspectives.
CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW INDIVIDUAL CLIENTS...Everyone is on a journey of personal development; making meaning of their lives and experiences. I consider people to be the experts in their lives, who, when supported, are able to follow their natural drive for self-actualization. All human experiences are a valuable part of the process of self-emergence. Even the greatest challenges can offer insight and fuel for a path forward. I seek to draw out clients' strengths and support the cultivation of their inner guide. People are neither sick nor well. Rather, we are all in process, with personal depths that want for exploration.

I am particularly drawn to Existential, Transpersonal and Jungian Depth psychologies.
It may not be easy to begin seeing a therapist, particularly if you are dealing with a difficult transition, relationship problem, grief, anxiety or depression. I strive to offer a safe, accepting, and respectful environment for addressing your issues. I will support you in discovering your own strengths, wisdom and inner resources and can offer tools for coping, growth and change, learned through over 20 years of clinical practice, and my own life experience. I believe in a collaborative process in which we can identify your goals, work through challenges, and create a plan for change.

Alex is currently finishing his masters in Counseling Psychology at the University of Western States in Portland, OR. His primary research focus is on transpersonal experiences and psychedelic-assisted therapy. Alex's philosophy is one of organicity, meaning that every individual is gifted with an innate healing wisdom and capacity for wholeness. As a former earth scientist and active artist, Alex incorporates lessons from nature and creative expression in his work, and seeks to help others reconnect with the more subtle rhythms of psyche as a woven thread in the generative fabric of life.

My approach is strongly influenced by Zen Buddhist Philosophy and practice, Somatic Experiencing, Psychedelic/ Transpersonal ,Rogerian Therapy, Logotherapy, Transpersonal Psychology, Ecopsychology and Non-violent communication.
I am passionate about coming into the Here and Now with clients and believe in the healing power of being witnessed with presence and loving kindness. Using mindfulness based practices I focus on supporting clients in addressing issues of depression, anxiety, and identity issues. In session I emphasize bringing the client’s attention out of thoughts/stories and into their present moment bodily experience with the understanding that more immediate change can occur this way. I enjoy experiencing the client and counselor relationship as a microcosm of the client’s greater relational life, and an opportunity to do deep healing.

My modalities include Hakomi (mindfulness-based somatic, experiential), Positive Psychology (deep coaching), Gestalt, Psychodrama, and Transpersonal .
Hi! I'm Jesse and I'm going to attempt to help you clarify whether I'm worth contacting in the next few statements. We might be a fit if: You are slightly skeptical of the therapeutic process (you're not alone). You're sensing this is a potential big moment in your life (even if you don't know why). You're someone who does well with a balanced blend of nurturing and challenge. You think growth is possible and awesome and, yes, uncomfortable, but well worth it. Whether you're good at asking for help or not, you know you need it at this moment to get where you're headed. Your dreams are a little scary to say out loud (a good sign!).

My heartfelt wish is to help you find your voice and connection in the world. There are so many ways we adapt to our circumstances, family, society or culture. To fit in, you might feel like you've lost part of yourself. You may feel isolated, like no one can possibly understand or even accept you. Maybe you grew up in a family affected by addiction, identify as LGBQT, or were raised in a religion that feels unaccepting. Perhaps you're an artist or unemployed and struggling with confidence. Whatever your circumstance, you can find the joy of being you.

Accepting Aetna, United Healthcare, Oxford and Oscar Health clients (at this time) The effects of trauma can undermine our natural ability to experience joy, peace and happiness in our lives, and it's not your fault. Traumatic experiences destroy trust and separate us from ourselves, leaving us in pain and fear. Using a wellness-focused, strengths-based, skill building, problem solving-approach, I support your journey in life's difficult times and situations of grief, loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, aging, life transitions, chronic pain, chronic illness, cultural/ethnic diversity injustice, and meaning of life questions.

Do you need a specialist who understands PTSD from the inside out? Have you been or are you now in therapy, but feel like you need a healer who really gets traumatic stress? Are you a person of extreme sensitivity, unusually empathic, spiritual or psychic? I would like to offer you a path out of the extreme suffering of PTSD and traumatic stress. I work with many people whose previous therapies have not worked out for them, including folks who have suffered from extreme traumas such as ritual abuse and/or mind control. I believe the transforming power of psychotherapy and coaching begins with a vital connection between you and me. Our conversations create a safe and nurturing space for you to grow in the confidence of your worth, your aspirations, and your life circumstances. From this awareness comes a deeper knowing of yourself and a more effective "hands on" capacity for dealing thoughtfully and constructively with the challenges of living. Together, we define your goals for therapy, and together we create the path to make these goals your reality. I invite you to join with me in this process.

Hello! Thank you for considering me to accompany you on this sacred journey. I believe counseling is a powerful tool for overcoming obstacles to well-being and human flourishing. I treat clients with a range of issues, from existential issues and coping with the demands of life, to mood disorders and anxiety, complex trauma and PTSD, spirituality concerns and religious trauma, and men's and LGBTQi issues. Together, we will examine these problems, trace their origins to childhood and significant adult relationships, and learn new skills and new ways of relating to others and ourselves to rediscover well-being and flourishing in life.

Transpersonal Therapists

How does transpersonal therapy work?

Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.

How long does transpersonal therapy last?

Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.

Is transpersonal therapy effective?

Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilize the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.

What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?

There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
