I am looking forward to working with adults, couples, families, adolescents and/or children (in no particular order) that are interested in art therapy and counseling. I have had 5 years experience in a residential setting with adolescents who struggle with both addictions and mental health concerns. And for another 7 years I worked with children and families in need of significant services at a non-profit organization downtown. I am now primarily working with Clients (like you!) at my private practice in SE Portland and am truly enjoying the experience.

For most individuals it is difficult to know where to turn when seeking help for depression, anxiety, self-harm, or interpersonal relationships. It is important to find someone who understands and above all someone to trust this change with. It is my belief that it is through this relationship and the will to find the real person underneath the hurt that we grow. By incorporating awareness of the mind, body and spirit there is little an individual cannot overcome. But this requires support and guidance.

My approach to therapy is based on making an empathetic connection, promoting awareness and relational growth. I have a holistic perspective, believing we are our own best resource for growth and healing. I am skilled at providing an open and compassionate space in which to connect with what is most important to you. For therapy to be meaningful and therefore useful, I have found techniques less important. Instead, I emphasize skillful use of the therapy relationship to work deeply with a wide range of issues, challenges and presentations - honoring diversity in my work with people, ideas and identities.
