Sometimes, we want to make changes but struggle with unknown parts of ourselves that seem to stop us. Habits, life long patterns and unconscious beliefs can hold us back from living the life that we long for. It takes time and courage to examine our belief system and reach out for what we really want. As a therapist, I follow the process of each individual. Clients are viewed on a spectrum of health, rather than through a lens of pathology. This approach creates a very curious and creative focus that encourages growth at the client’s own pace.

My theoretical bases are the Jungian concept of human development, trauma-informed care, attachment theory, neuroscience, and awareness of body-mind connection, mindfulness, CBT, EMDR and art therapy.
I believe that each person's life is unique and precious no matter how the person perceives it. I believe in our innate healing power, resilience, and creativity. I work with teens and adults who are suffering from depression, anxiety, anger, and other emotional distress related to loss & grief, relational conflict, traumatic events, and life transitions. Together, we work to increase your awareness, expand your capacity to perceive realities and new perspectives, and to grow to be something larger than current self. I also work with intercultural couples who are seeking better communication for greater mutual understanding.

Many of my clients are in mid-life and struggling with relationships, career, aging, illness, and loss. I have experience working with sexual minority clients. My task as therapist is to accompany you on a unique journey to your authentic self.

My perspective is rooted in Transpersonal, Gestalt, Existential/Humanistic, Jungian /Depth Psychology, Eco-Psychology, and Spiritual Guidance perspectives.
CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW INDIVIDUAL CLIENTS...Everyone is on a journey of personal development; making meaning of their lives and experiences. I consider people to be the experts in their lives, who, when supported, are able to follow their natural drive for self-actualization. All human experiences are a valuable part of the process of self-emergence. Even the greatest challenges can offer insight and fuel for a path forward. I seek to draw out clients' strengths and support the cultivation of their inner guide. People are neither sick nor well. Rather, we are all in process, with personal depths that want for exploration.

Jungian psychology & dreamwork complement modern psychoanalytic perspectives.
Do you feel anxious too much of the time? Exhausted, disconnected, without purpose or interest? Do you forfeit your own thoughts and feelings in relationship to others? Would you like to deal with difficulties more effectively than the unconscious impulses to comply, defy or flee? Whether it's a distinct problem or a vague discontent that needs resolution, I hold the space to illuminate, guide and empower your progression. This is where talk is strong medicine. Neuroscience reveals that therapy changes brain chemistry & structure. Habitual patterns fall away to a renewed sense of energy, choice and personal authority.

I have trained in different models of therapeutic treatment: psychoanalysis, Jungian depth psychology, family systems, Transactional Analysis.
Psychotherapy is not just a matter of skills and techniques. Healing occurs when, in a safe environment, you can speak and hear your own voice, tell your own story, and find someone really listening to you. When you feel heard, new insights can emerge. Anxiety, depression, worry, or conflicts constrict your experience and personal relationships. A therapeutic relationship can provide an opportunity to be accompanied as you express your feelings, thoughts, and concerns. You become more open, able to make new choices. Your more authentic self can emerge as your inner landscape changes. I am interested in hearing and seeing you, as you are.

I utilize an integrative approach including Psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, Jungian Psychology, and EMDR to empower individuals and find coping strategies that make sense.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to providing compassionate and supportive counseling/psychotherapy. I work with individuals both long and short term. Wanting to understand why adverse or difficult things happen to us is natural. When one can contribute a sense of meaning to a difficult situation the power of the problem is often integrated and diminishes. Therapy is a process that can help an individual find the transformational quality in their adverse experiences and become empowered by them, instead of overwhelmed by them.

I am particularly drawn to Existential, Transpersonal and Jungian Depth psychologies.
It may not be easy to begin seeing a therapist, particularly if you are dealing with a difficult transition, relationship problem, grief, anxiety or depression. I strive to offer a safe, accepting, and respectful environment for addressing your issues. I will support you in discovering your own strengths, wisdom and inner resources and can offer tools for coping, growth and change, learned through over 20 years of clinical practice, and my own life experience. I believe in a collaborative process in which we can identify your goals, work through challenges, and create a plan for change.

As a Jungian psychotherapist, I use clients' dreams and creative endeavors as a portal to a deeper understanding of self.
NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS For most people, strong relationships are an important indicator of health and well-being. When we feel stuck in old patterns that no longer serve us, our connection to others suffers too, which can turn up as depression, anxiety, or simply feeling alone and disconnected. By reconnecting with our essential gifts and strengths through the therapy process, we in turn can offer more to family, friends, and community.

I combine many powerful modalities, including Jungian inner work, neuroscience, fitness, career, and spirituality, but I will carefully tailor my approach to honor your unique needs and possibilities.
Love. Joy. Ecstasy. Awe. In my 16 years of clinical experience, I’ve discovered that we each have far more capacity for these expansive feelings than we often realize. Whether you are struggling to get through the daily grind, or feel ready to fly through the stars, I can work with you collaboratively to shape a life that fulfills your highest dreams, and maybe even soars beyond them! I’m eager to share what I’ve learned about our abilities to break out of old patterns of shame, hurt, and fear into fruitful creativity and communion with the most inspiring aspects of being alive.

My practice is grounded in a person-centered and trauma-informed approach that integrates strengths-based, cognitive, depth ( Jungian ), and psychodynamic theories.
I specialize in helping with trauma, anxiety, depression, dreams, and dissociation. I believe that inside each of us is the capacity to heal from trauma or painful life experiences that can often leave us feeling disconnected from our inner wisdom. I work from the perspective that each person has a natural sense of their unique healing needs. I'm passionate about working collaboratively with you to deepen your relationship to your inner wisdom to guide and enrich both the therapy process and your life. This can involve the exploration of dreams to help you live a meaningful, fulfilled, and balanced life.

In an atmosphere of respect, insight and compassion, pathways leading to wellness, new beginnings and joy are possible. Working together, grounded in my in-depth knowledge of and experience in Jungian and contemporary psychotherapies, we illuminate outworn attitudes and patterns. By working with the art and science of psychotherapy, I foster your natural capacities for healing, change, conscious aging and transformation. As you tell your story, relationships to others, spirituality, life events and aging take on new meaning. A doorway opens to pervasive change that goes far beyond symptoms and previous goals.

I am a licensed professional counselor with a background in community mental health. I bring to my practice years of work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, PTSD, generational trauma, addiction issues, life transitions and grief and loss. I utilize brief therapy modalities in my practice along with longer-term models like Jungian and depth psychologies. Within this framework I embrace an existential paradigm, focusing on the four ultimate concerns or conditions in living: death, freedom, isolation and meaninglessness. The sacred, spirituality, and the deep feminine are core aspects of my practice.

Psychodynamic ( Jungian ) orientation: Just as the conscious mind, the unconscious mind can be directional.
Everyone needs to talk about their personal concerns, emotions, and life challenges. At times, it is best to talk to someone who is not a friend or family member. I provide a place and process for these personal conversations. I will support you as you resolve old issues and emotional blocks, find new insights and choices, develop new ways of coping and acting. I am interactive and supportive. I work with individuals experiencing stress/anxiety/trauma; depression; childhood and relationship issues; life transitions - divorce, the death of someone important, illness, and transitions of midlife or becoming an elder; ADHD.

My practice is informed by attachment theory, Buddhism and Jungian psychology.
Sometimes you find yourself in a dark place, lost and disoriented. At times like these, having a kind companion can make a big difference: someone who can shine a light on your situation, help you unsnarl yourself, and find your way forward. If you're going through a difficult transition, struggling with anxiety, depression, anger or unresolved trauma, I can help. I am accepting new clients. I offer in-person as well as video/zoom sessions.

Are you looking for a Jungian Analyst to help you navigate the tension of opposites and live life more deeply, passionately, and intentionally? My practice is rooted primarily in the relationship between my client and myself. It draws upon metaphor; experiental learning; traditional methods of analytical psychology (life narrative, dream exploration, authentic movement, exploring the intersubjective field between us) meditation; visualization; and spiritual inquiry.

Jungian Therapists

How does Jungian therapy work?

Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.

How long does Jungian therapy last?

Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.

Is Jungian therapy effective?

According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.

Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?

Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
