Considered counseling but don't want to be confined to an office? Know you need help, but sitting down and talking about it sounds overwhelming? Tried to connect your teen with a therapist but it never works out? Then Connected Roots Counseling might be right for you. I approach therapy as a radical act of care, connection, and reclamation. I do not see any person as being broken or in need of fixing—but rather, being shaped by systems, histories, and daily conditions that often demand disconnection from self, body, land, and reality. I offer a unique ecotherapy practice to address these, and many more issues.

Stress, anxiety, and feeling stuck can wear down even the most capable people. You may be high-functioning at work but exhausted underneath. Maybe sleep is off, your relationships feel strained, or burnout has crept in. You want change but aren't sure where to start.
I work with adults across Oregon and Washington navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, burnout, and the stress that comes with high-pressure careers, chronic illness, or major life changes. I also work with neurodivergent adults, including those exploring ADHD or autism in adulthood. Sessions are evidence-based, practical, and collaborative.

I favor somatic, emotions-focused, and Internal Family Systems approaches.
My couples work takes this a step further; you and your partner or partners will learn to see the architecture of your own emotional influences and needs. With time and compassion, we will work to open stuck doors. The goal is for you and your partner(s) to turn towards one another instead of away when things get hard.

I use Internal Family Systems ( IFS) as a framework and primary modality while also integrating interventions from Somatic Therapy and EMDR, ending each session with a brief meditation to allow for a smoother transition back into your day.
Life can be painful and our pain often needs to be heard to heal. Many of us spend a lot of energy avoiding or numbing our difficult feelings, and while those tactics can work for a while, they don’t provide the healing we need or create the life we want to live. If you’re ready to explore new ways of coping in a safe environment, I encourage you to reach out. Life doesn’t have to be this hard all the time.

Hi new friend, my name is Carly Curry and I am so glad you are here. I believe in the power of authenticity and the importance of honoring your journey. I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming practitioner, ally, and social justice advocate. My true passion in the field is the queer community, especially the transgender youth and adults who face so many hardships in life. I want to create that safe space where someone feels they can be their whole self. I currently work with individuals, couples, children and teens who are all at completely different places in life.

My practice is rooted in somatic psychology, somatic experiencing, integrative parts work, Internal Family Systems, and depth psychology.
I offer support to adults who are desiring to release trauma, understand behavior patterns and recurring emotional disturbances, deepen authenticity and self-compassion, and question social conditioning. I also support those who may feel at odds with social expectations. I use Somatic modalities to release stuck nervous systems patterns and emotions, increase understanding of who you are, and reconnect to your internal guidance system.
Using curiosity and compassion, I focus more on understanding why certain behaviors, parts, and emotions were, and are needed as a protection, rather than to pathologize or force change.

I work with individuals and couples who seek to heal trauma, improve communication, and learn from their emotions through body-based (somatic) practices. If you're feeling anxious, depressed, or isolated without understanding how your body's sensations and emotions can help lead you to greater ease, you are not alone. Our culture has taught us to ignore our bodies rather than listen to them. I specialize in a somatic approach, which complements my other focus areas such as ecotherapy, attachment, parts work, psychedelic integration, and couples therapy.

I practice a dynamic style of therapy that is rooted in creating a supportive environment where we establish a good working relationship fostering self-awareness and insight. I work in-depth with you to discover how past family experiences may (often unconsciously) influence present day issues. We work to understand how difficult situations of the past contribute to longstanding frequently dysfunctional behavior patterns or negative self-perceptions. Therapy can help heal painful emotional wounds and relieve symptoms, improve self-acceptance and coping, improve relationship quality and overall life and work satisfaction.

I integrate Internal Family Systems, narrative therapy, and interpersonal neurobiology, with a focus on interdependence and compassion for self and others.
Hi, I'm Mido. I do therapy differently than most, because I trust that you already have the inner resources to deal with stuckness, and you just need some help with access. If you're looking for individual or partnered support, you're not alone, and things really can get better. It's so common to feel anxious or disconnected and to need help navigating the impact of previous trauma on current experiences, particularly around identity, sexuality, intimacy, marginalization, and nontraditional partnerships. I can help you increase connection and shift relationship imbalances with compassion and accountability rather than blame.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.
How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.
Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.
How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
