I want you to leave each therapy session feeling more hopeful than when you started. I love working with clients motivated to make changes, and also clients who feel uncertain about their ability to feel better—it’s a big step to start therapy! As a therapist with extensive experience working with clients coping with anxiety, trauma, OCD and dissociation, I consistently see how traumatic events unconsciously block and inhibit an individual from feeling hopeful and making change in their lives. My goal is to provide a safe, trusting space to address what's burdening you and empower your sense of agency.

Do you ever feel like you’re constantly misunderstood, overwhelmed, or putting on a mask just to make it through the day? Maybe anxiety, sensory overload, or past experiences leave you feeling ungrounded in your relationships or even within yourself. As a queer mental health professional, I offer affirming, specialized support for autistic and ADHD adults, trauma survivors, and those navigating OCD, dissociation, personality patterns, anxiety, and depression. I work with thoughtful, capable people who are tired of carrying so much on their own and are ready for a space where they can finally feel understood, supported and at ease.

For many clients, it is important for their therapist to present with a warm and empathetic demeanor while also employing a direct and balanced viewpoint. As a person with chronic illness, I understand firsthand how invisible disabilities can impact employment, personal relationships, and the ability to feel safe and trust your own body. My practice strives to create a non-judgmental environment that is genuine and compassionate. Seeing the world through rose colored glasses doesn’t resonate with everyone. I believe that your experiences and perspective are valid and deserves to be considered by all members of your care team.

Therapy holds a lot of power. It can be a place for you to explore who you are, what you want, how you can grow, what could be changed, what there is to celebrate. I hope to serve as a guide as you decide what comes next. I myself am queer and nonbinary, and for those of you who are (or think you might be) in the community, we can explore your sexuality and gender, from identity to presentation, relationships, to social or medical transition.

Are grief, trauma, addiction, or relationship challenges making it difficult to feel steady in your daily life? Many people try to manage these struggles on their own for years before reaching out for support. Therapy can provide a space to explore what you’ve been through, process painful experiences, and better understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Together we can work toward healthier coping skills, stronger relationships, and a greater sense of stability and healing.

Trying to accomplish our life goals while dealing with complex identities or circumstances can be frustrating and lonely. What would it be like to feel seen, heard, and empowered? You are facing multiple different pressures at once including marginalization, dual diagnosis, disability, parenting, victimization, amongst others. You may also be navigating complex and oppressive systems such as medical care, career pathways, government assistance, immigration, or housing, to name a few. There's a desire for someone to help unravel these complexities and make breathing feel a little bit easier.

My goal is to meet the client where they are at and work together towards identifying what their struggles are, what gets in the way of addressing them and building skills to grow from there. Using mindfulness to increase awareness and understanding of the connection between mind and body we learn to recognize how emotions and other factors impact mood, attitude, attention and relationships. I view people through a trauma informed lens to ensure that all aspects of their past and present are considered possible influencers and may need to be better understood. I like to say my hope as your therapist is "helping you help yourself".

From a young age, I became the person others turned to during life’s hardest moments—not because I had all the answers, but because they felt safe, heard, and less alone in my presence. That instinct to support others grew into a lifelong calling. With an MA from Prairie View A&M and training in CBT, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing, I now help adults navigate depression, life transitions, and crises with steadiness and care.

Specialties: LGBTQ+, Addiction, Life transitions, Trauma and PTSD. We all come into therapy for different reasons. Some people may have specific challenges they are looking to overcome, while others may just need to explore why they feel the way they do. Challenges in my own life and the complexities of identity itself have profoundly shaped my empathetic approach to life. I see therapy as a conversation, and I am deeply committed to maintaining an open dialogue with you.

Life is a rich and beautiful opportunity for growth, yet sometimes everything seems overwhelming and it's hard to find a way forward. How do we balance relationships, work, and our own wellbeing when our mind is racing and emotions overpower us? You do not have to do it alone. I specialize in trauma therapy and work with adults struggling to manage anxiety, depression, and confusing, difficult emotions. Many of my clients feel emotionally ‘stuck’ despite having done therapy before, and are ready to go a step deeper to address the underlying issues that continually cause distress in daily life.

My work focuses on addressing cycles of inner and relational conflict by bringing difficult, challenging material into focus in a way that enables you to stay grounded and focused. For many of us, childhood experiences wherein we were never fully seen or were actively abused, may have left us confused, hurt, and alone. Those early experiences can often lead to repeating destructive patterns of behavior that originated when we were young.

Dissociative Disorders (DID) Therapists
How does therapy for dissociative disorders work?
Dissociation may be triggered by stress or other upsetting circumstances, and therapy can address the traumatic events at the core of an individual’s dissociation. Understanding why a person may dissociate can help the therapist and the individual come up with alternative methods of coping. A person with a dissociative disorder may get stuck on negative thinking, for example, and treatment like Cognitive behavioral therapy is a gold standard for breaking such thinking. And dialectical behavior therapy, for example, can help a person manage their anguish through better emotion regulation.

Which therapies are best for dissociative disorders?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, psychodynamic, schema therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful memories and past traumas. These therapies work to integrate an individual's different identities into one person.

Are there specific medications for dissociation?
There are no specific medications prescribed for dissociative disorders. However, psychosis, depression, anxiety, and/or panic often co-occur in dissociative disorders. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for any accompanying symptom—which may include antipsychotics like aripiprazole, antidepressants like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or anti-anxiety drugs like benzodiazepines.

How often and how long are therapy sessions?
Like any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. There are still other patients, especially those who have co-occurring conditions like depression and anxiety, who may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months.
