If you struggle with chronic issues and have tried other therapists and are still struggling, I may be the therapist for you. I am a specialist in accessing early trauma and clearing it through the use of brain-based therapies such as EMDR and Brainspotting. I am certified in Brainspotting and Systemic Family Constellations and trained in EMDR I/II. I combine these three methods plus my natural empathic abilities to access blockages and clear them. You will feel immediately better!

As a therapist, I believe my first job is to witness. I aim to support a space that is safe enough for you to tell your own story, heal, and step further into your own power. I welcome open discussion of your identities, cultures, relationships, and experiences, including your experience of therapy itself, as it is happening. We’ll work to name how your experiences with structural oppression may have shaped your beliefs about yourself and how you cope. We’ll identify your strengths, and when it’s helpful, we’ll try out tools to support changes you may want to make.

At times, we may reach a point where we are unable to bear the load any longer. Seeking counseling can offer liberation from the heavy burdens that oppress us. Whether it be past or current trauma, problems in relationships, life transitions, or unfulfilled expectations, we can collaborate toward recovering from the injuries inflicted by life's unpredictable challenges. Embarking on the path to healing may seem daunting, but I am eager to create a secure and nurturing environment, fostering a dependable connection where we can embark on this journey together and discover optimism for what lies ahead

I also work with individuals and their loved ones going through significant life transitions — becoming a parent, living with ADHD, and facing serious illness, including cancer.
My therapeutic style integrates psychodynamic and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) frameworks within a relational foundation. Working together, we'll explore how the past is impacting your present and connect with practical, evidence-based tools. Combining these approaches with deeper self-compassion offers the opportunity for meaningful and lasting change.

Perhaps you were raised in an environment that prioritizes mental health and is supportive of psychotherapy. Conversely, and as often the case, you were taught from caregivers that it was "weak" or "shameful" to obtain professional support, or to even seek help outside of yourself. These sentiments still permeate our culture, and though they are shifting, I find that they still lurk and impact one's drive to pursue mental health care. So in either case (and for all others in between), getting here was a process. In this spirit, I want to commend you for taking this huge and vulnerable step toward healing and deeper self-awareness!

Getting started in therapy can feel daunting and I can help to make that experience easier for you. My clients most frequently describe me as genuine, easy to talk to, and compassionate. I understand that we all cope in different ways and welcome having periods of light conversation and humor along the way. I strive to genuinely get to know you and help you identify the root cause of your distress, so we can work towards resolving it. Often, our initial focus is on strengthening skills needed to regulate difficult emotions, which can allows us to process and unpack painful life experiences without feeling as emotionally overwhelmed.

Hi! My name is Brad Pankey. I enjoy helping clients who: (1 ) feel like their life is getting smaller over time; (2) think about food and/or their body all day; (3) feel stuck in their heads amongst a whirlwind of thoughts; (4) feel as though they are living a life that lacks meaning; (5) who feel trapped by needing to control every aspect of their life; and (6) are experiencing crushing grief and life transitions. Those who find success with me come to therapy truly ready for change and interested in trying something new in therapy. They appreciate humor and a therapist who listens with an open heart while also challenging them.

If you’re reading this, we already know you’re struggling. Maybe you’re having trouble “adulting”. You’re feeling like everyone else seems to have it all together, why can’t you? Your mental health is getting worse and worse, and you just want it to stop. Your day to day life is chaos and worry and you remember better days when things just weren't like this. You might feel like you’re out of control of your life.

I have had the privilege of witnessing people undergo the slow, extremely subtle and remarkable journey of healing and self-transformation. This process of psychological growth is astoundingly complex, multilayered, circular and even mysteriously numinous in its unfolding. My philosophy as a therapist is primarily on core transformation rather than merely symptom management and needless to say, I strongly believe in the centrality of the therapeutic relationship as a significant healing agent. Moving towards our wholeness necessitates the courage to first move into the wounded parts that we all have as members of the human species.

You might look fine on the outside—showing up, doing all the things—but inside, something feels off. Maybe it's a quiet disconnection, a loneliness you can’t name, or the sense you’ve had to mute parts of yourself just to be accepted. I work at the intersection of trauma and grief—especially when it shapes identity, disrupts belonging, or lives in the nervous system in ways that are hard to name but deeply felt.

Further, I have years working on cancer, psychiatric, and emergency units and experience dealing with spiritual issues should they be a part of what brings you to therapy.
Maybe you, your child or partner is anxious or depressed, isolated, alone? Stuck on Internet Porn? Maybe you have somehow been victimized or hurt? I offer a relationship based, non-judgmental space informed by evidence-based practices, including CBT and EMDR therapy. EMDR targets traumatic or hurtful memories and helps change them, freeing you from pain and fear. It reduces anxiety, panic attacks, nightmares, self-esteem issues and various symptoms associated with post traumatic stress. CBT addresses negative thinking - self criticism, self shaming - that fosters self-hatred, depression, and anxiety, isolation.
