We all deserve to feel aligned, safe and nurtured. Cultivating compassionate self-awareness and acceptance, are at the core of healing, change and growth. When we feel healthy and fulfilled we are more likely to live with meaning. I utilize an integrative lens, centered in mindfulness, somatic, attachment and IFS orientations to promote increased consciousness of thoughts, values, feelings, and behavior patterns. My approach is intuitive, and warm. Our work together involves expanding awareness of the felt senses to move towards a more integrated trusting self. I am tele health in Oregon. Offering ecotherapy walks in Missoula.

There is an edge, an opening, a sense of limitless possibility both within and beyond the horizon of your everyday reality. Together we take the time and space to be with the feeling of that possibility, allowing for the emergence of new perspectives and orientations within and toward your lifeworld. We explore how need, desire, meaning, function, purpose and importance intertwine and shape each other for you.

So much of life is learning to deal with the cards we’ve been given. I love seeing people not only deal with the cards they’ve been given, but turn them into amazing card castles. I want to help those that seek to get unstuck grow toward their best selves, have great relationships and enjoy lives filled with joy. I like to use well-researched therapeutic techniques that have been proven to help people grow. In couples therapy that means drawing from the research of John Gottman. In family and individual therapy that means an integrative approach - utilizing practical therapeutic tools that help clients achieve their goals.

As a psychotherapist and contemporary psychoanalyst, I will help you deal with your concerns and distress through greater understanding of what goes on inside of you. We will listen to and work with your feelings, dreams, fantasies, sadness, fears, hopes and desires with compassion and insight. During the past thirty years, I have helped adults, teenagers and children create a safe space in therapy based on trust and respect to develop a sturdier sense of self, have more satisfying relationships, reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, and access what was previously out of awareness or unthought that can now inform daily life.

Welcome! I work with adults of all ages, helping them with navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, isolation, and stress. Are you adjusting to a new phase of life? Struggling to cope with changes in health? Feeling unsure of who you are with the changes in your roles and responsibilities? Many of the people I work with appear calm and capable but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected underneath. If this sounds like you, know that you don’t have to go through it alone.

I work with clients who are done with conveyor-belt therapy and surface-level talk. As a somatic, relational therapist, I offer more than insight, I provide a deeply attuned presence where your inner voice is honored and you are seen and heard. In that space, healing begins and transformation unfolds. I help individuals and couples untangle the emotional knots that keep them stuck, from their trauma, anxiety, and grief, to the wide array of challenges human emotion has given us. The journey inward is the first and most sacred step to cultivating an honest, compassionate relationship with yourself. The most important relationship.

I enjoy working with clients who feel that their minds have become unmanageable. This experience often arises from a belief that inner conflict and complexity is a problem to be solved rather than a state of affairs to be understood and befriended. Sometimes this unmanageability shows up as anxiety, where the mind dreads bad outcomes and wont allow you to enjoy your life. Other times as depression, where the mind is mired in hopelessness, despair, or resentment. Addictions of various sorts can also arise from this state of affairs, whereby we try to distract or quiet our minds through destructive patterns of behavior.

Accepting new clients! I understand how hard it is to be a human and how our histories, relationships, and structural oppression impact our health and wellness. I am a firm believer that we grow throughout the lifespan and that it is never too late for change and recovery. I am particularly interested in working with folks struggling with identity (LGBTQIA+, white guilt, and major life changes which impact how we think about ourselves), depression and anxiety, trauma, and people who are embarking on the parenting journey.

I believe that we all do the best we can. I believe in the wisdom of the individual and the strength in each of us. I believe that there is power in our stories. I believe that we are stronger together. I believe we can change, do better and be better in our daily lives. I believe that small steps turn into big changes. I believe in being brave, finding your voice and believing in yourself. I believe that laughter is the best medicine and not taking ourselves too seriously. I focus on relationship first in all the work that I do. I focus on connection and the strengths of the individual to drive the work and the change.

You're probably dealing with some difficult issues, being human is hard. I get it; life isn’t always easy to navigate and being human can be hard at times. I want you to know you are not alone, though I know it often feels like you are, boy do I know. I'm here to support you if you decide to give me the opportunity and if it not, I'll still attempt to support you somehow. I like to start weekly to build rapport and trust or every other week if needed because my main belief is in the therapeutic alliance/relationship. I strongly believe my role as a therapist, metaphorically speaking is this: you are the author, and I am the editor.

I provide a nonjudgemental space for clients to address anything you choose to bring to therapy. I work primarily with Narrative Therapy, which is a world view as much as it is a therapeutic approach. The Narrative approach puts your story at the center of the conversation. People in my practice are also seen through a multi-storied lens rather than a narrow singular story. I will have a friendly and laid back approach in our sessions. At the same time, I will also offer you direct feedback and honest observations. Mindfulness work, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Relational work are also important to me.
