I'm a mature woman with a young vibe.
You have hopes and desires but feel a lack of motivation, energy, purpose or interest. The things that once brought you relief or joy no longer do or have become problematic. The world no longer feels like a safe place. You know that getting support would be helpful but where do you begin and how do you trust a stranger. You long to find support from a caring, compassionate person to help you learn self acceptance, develop resilience and move forward in your life. For there to be world peace, we must each find inner peace. I especially enjoy working with young adults, caregivers, HSPs, "late bloomers" and creative artists.

I help all of us remember that it’s okay to feel, it’s okay to be scared, it’s okay to not know what the next right thing is, and it’s okay to ask for support. I love getting to know clients and helping you integrate your story in a way that helps you regain a sense of control over your emotions, experiences, and future.Sometimes, our stories have chapters we didn’t expect. I help you figure out how to navigate the anxiety, grief, anger, guilt, shame, and sense of overwhelm that can accompany life.

Is anxiety, depression, complex grief, or chronic stress preventing you from feeling present in your life? Have you done a lot of therapy but continue to find yourself feeling stuck, hopeless, or full of dread? Are you struggling with chronic health conditions that don't seem to respond to traditional interventions or can't be explained by conventional medicine? My time as a healing professional has reinforced the awareness that trauma and chronic stress are stored not just in our minds, but in our bodies and nervous systems as well. That is often why talk therapy is just not enough.

Therapy with me is relaxed and collaborative. I help people who are experiencing overwhelm, low mood, and anxiety find solutions to better weather life’s ups and downs. Depression, anxiety, and trauma can all lead to feelings of hopelessness and isolation. When life becomes too much, we can retreat into ourselves and shy away from our support networks. We may never have had much of a formal support network to begin with and we struggle to establish meaningful relationships due to past trauma. Or, perhaps you are struggling with vicarious trauma or burnout related to your work serving others?

Together we will work to build a foundation where you can access tools to support your happiness tomorrow and for the rest of your life.

Your issues may include not feeling like yourself, feeling stuck, grieving a loss, feeling flat, numb, or disconnected, sensing that something is missing or off, struggling with identity or life transitions, being in need of support in parenting, or just sensing that this is important somehow.

My clients are cycle breakers..... "A cycle breaker is someone who grew up without an example of the life they wanted or needed, and they fought like hell to build that life anyway." -Nate Postlethwait
My therapeutic approach gently examines how family of origin, cultural upbringing, socioeconomic inequality and attachment style have influenced your life and relationships. I am culturally diverse, and the proud daughter of a Vietnamese refugee.
Being biracial I have a special affinity for BIPOC and multi-racial people. This is a unique human experience, that one cannot fully appreciate without having lived it.

I want to guide you in embracing life and empowering you to navigate challenges with resilience. I enjoy working with a wide variety of individuals, couple systems, and families. In addition to addressing anxiety and depression, I specialize in working with children of immigrants and folks from multicultural backgrounds as they navigate identity, cultural expectations, life transitions, and the challenges of balancing different worlds.

Do you have an adept ability to flex and bend to the needs of your environment? Do you struggle to identify and prioritize your own needs? Are your goals and dreams collecting dust while you compulsively tend to those around you? Codependency often develops as a survival strategy of people who are raised in environments saturated in trauma and addiction. Useful in childhood, it leaves many feeling a complex array of emotions in their adulthood: emptiness, resentment, loneliness, and confusion. I help people to break unsatisying relational-patterns and to harness more creative control over their lives.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
