You want to develop a relationship with yourself, you want a connection to your body, mind, soul and spirit.
You feel confused, uncertain and filled with self-doubt about yourself and your decisions, nothing is ever good enough. You’re tired of feeling something's wrong with you and want to make a change. It's powerful to connect with others who feel similar, who want to heal, grow and thrive in community. If you're ready to create change and strengthen a connection with your mind, body and spirit as well as be part of the collective then explore my yoga and somatic group series. I'm unable to accept individual clients as I offer trauma-informed yoga and somatic groups as a way to connect with more people who are seeking these practices.

Many things can divert a once happy relationship .
Falling in love is addictive. It is your brain on cocaine. Until, it isn't. At first, you couldn't picture months of arguing. Even an affair, broken trust. Perhaps you never imagined hiding away, secretly texting a colleague - s/he listens to you. Perhaps you just want the miscommunication and storming out of the room to end.

Welcome. I’m glad you’re here. My life's work is to empower people toward a sense of wholeness. I am passionate about supporting adults who seek more balance in their lives. I assist clients in sorting through well-worn relationship patterns, to reconnect with their own needs and clarify boundaries. Many of my clients are looking for relief from overwhelm and anxiety. In our work together, I also offer space for spiritual exploration, grief, and reflection on life’s challenges and mysteries.

Proper maintenance of a relationship , much like plants, often requires outside assistance.
**Currently focusing on web-based video sessions during Covid-19 issues - let's all be safe** We, as humans, create long-lasting patterns of beliefs and actions to help cope with life’s difficulties. However, as time passes, these deeply rooted patterns can cause growing pains. They also, unfortunately, become shadowed and intertwined in our selves. Like a tree’s thick roots, they need to be carefully excavated, nurtured, and soothed before they can be changed. My goal is to help you to see the internal struggle with your patterns and ease the pain around them so you can fill your day with joy and happiness.

I am a nonbinary gender therapist who is passionate about working with LGBTQ+ clients. I've worked with trans and non-binary children and adults, and offer sessions to write referral letters for gender affirming procedures. In both relationship and individual therapy, I'm sex positive, inclusive of non-monogamy, and comfortable navigating concerns about sexuality and intimacy. I help clients find the tools within themselves to feel empowered. My approach requires exploring beyond your comfort zone, leading to an improved relationship with yourself. Please be advised I cannot take insurance.

We are all searching for ways to lead fulfilling lives, but sometimes we struggle to find the things that will help sustain us or the obstacles of life can begin to feel overwhelming. As a therapist, I help to identify the things that nourish each individual and act as a partner in learning strategies for moving through the difficult times. I strive to maintain empathy, compassion, and openness with each of the clients I work with and value a collaborative relationship that allows my clients to steer treatment in the direction most useful to them.

I believe in the strength and resilience of people. Facing the parts of us that are scared, in pain, angry or that we are ashamed of is hard work and it is rewarding work. We have the opportunity to increase self awareness, understand and accept patterns, and learn new skills and ways of engaging in the world. I prioritize building a genuine, empathetic, safe relationship that will provide a foundation for the work we do. As a therapist, I ground my work in Internal Family Systems Theory and Person Centered Theory.

What secret(s) do you, you and your partner or family, keep that you are sure, if people knew, would make you less than okay in their eyes? What is the stuck place that keeps you from moving forward in your life and relationships? If you have not yet given up and have reached the point of seeking help, you are already in the process of change. If you are ready to take the next steps, I would love to help you build toward a more expansive relationship to yourself and others in your life.

Together, we will build a trusting and authentic relationship where you can feel safe enough to explore what happened in your life, the ways you have survived, and how to get unstuck and move toward a life that is ruled by you, not the trauma.
Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or a nagging feeling that something just isn’t okay? Have the difficult experiences of your past started to come back to the surface? Are you having panic attacks, feeling jumpy, or avoiding things that remind you of these experiences? Maybe this is all having an impact on your relationships and your ability to go about your daily life. You are not alone. I help survivors of childhood and interpersonal trauma look at how their experiences have shaped them and explore how to take back their lives from the memories that have burdened them for so long.

Your experience is so important; research shows that the most significant factor in a positive outcome is the relationship with the therapist.
I am both a physician and a marriage, couple and family therapist intern. My training gives me a unique awareness of the interconnectedness of neuroscience and the tender yet resilient human psyche.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
